Well done! ;) I'm just off to buy a cd with it on now then! Heard it on a telly programme, an it's wicked

Of course its wicked - its NEW ORDER! Probably not their best song tho' - just one of their better singles - hope you get into their other songs through this one.

Its available on the 1993 album called: REPUBLIC or the 1994 best of called: (the best of) New Order and also the 2002 best of called: International

all these should be freely available in most record shops & will all give you an idea of how good NO can be. Not sure which I would recommend as a starting point tho', which one would the rest of you people recommend? :confused2:

It's also on Retro, a very good place to start.

But a bit expensive for a newbie

I suppose International would be a good intro Its got good versions of Ceremony, Blue Monday, BLT, True Faith, Regret, & Crystal; seems like a decent taster when you list them that way.

Other New Order songs to look for for someone who likes Regret:

  • Dream Attack

Thanx guys. I tried buying Substance yesterday and they didn't have it, but International sounds better so I'll get that! :thumb:

It's a class album BUT it dosen't have REGRET on it - which was the original point. But later, when DiscoAngel is fully indoctrinated into NO, then Substance is an essential buy

You sure Seb? Someone who likes big & beefy jump-up-and-down "Regret" should therefore like ... er, five safe & sound MOR lighers-in-the-air type tracks as well?! Personally, I wouldn't lump "Regret" in with any of those. I stick it in with yer "Crystal"s and suchlike. Your rockier tracks.

also 60 mph, age of consent, sunrise, ceremony, the list could be endless, personaly i'd suggest running up the credit card bill on the entire back catalog, then try to find the rare stuff on e-bay.

Another convert:thumb: Listen to it for a few days & then post your favourites - we'll try to point you in the direction of similar stuff.

Also, if you have a look at the discography section in this site (in the HISTORY tab) you will be able to listen to 30 second tasters of most NO tracks. Or get completly lost in the Audio section (in the MEDIA tab) - you won't come up for air for weeks!:evil4::beer:

Enjoy

None of NO live anywhere near me:thumbdown: All we got growing up was Bono p1ssing around at the local shops:scratch: But then, as Barney told us back in '86 "your country is a fooking awfull place" - so what should I expect:beer:
