Luckly I'll have the New Order promo before (crossing fingers!) so I won't have the dillema to pick which one goes first in the CD player

Whoa, how do you know this kind of stuff??? I tend to just go to the shop with the shortest queues, and that's never usually HMV, which is always packed. Hate queues so I certainly couldn't bring myself to go back twice for different versions 
Still, I have a feeling the first single will do really well in the first week any way :)
I can't see the album charting very high (if at all) in the States but that might not be such a bad thing if you look at what DOES chart here. But I must be getting old or something because I barely know who any of these people are on the charts...
Oh my...just had a look at the top 50 singles here in the States, and from the looks of that lot, there's no way in Hell that New order stand a chance of getting on that list...I knew rap was big here, but that's frigging insane...
and then looking at the top 50 albums...wow...there is a whopping TWO of them that I own...and don't care to own any of the other 48...
I knew I was out of the loop...but...now I feel like I've lost touch with reality!!!

Indeed. Even at my age, I don't even know the artists played on the top 40 station - not that I'd really want to, though. When someone raps about his bling-bling or his hoes or about leaning back, I find Barney's couplet lyrics profound.
American radio is rubbish and should be annihilated... same goes to mtv and vh1. all 3 have ruined music here in the states. thankfully "indie" music has made more of an impact in the past 3-5 years, but still... even the indie genres are on the road to exploitation and saturation by major labels.
