Anyone asked about Gillian or a U.S. tour yet?

Oh nevermind.

I thought the new regulation first post was "Can you send Krafty to scrounging@bastard.com"

Seriously though it's good that there is so much activity here lately, no? Us old gits are just going to have to be tolerant. Great to know they can still get people aroused.

Btw, the absolute winner in the dumbarse Gillian posts is currently on WIM at this very moment. Is she married to Steve? For fucks sake...

It is indeed good that there is so much activity on the boards at present. Calls for some hard work from Spotnick though, trying to condense the 587 "what do you think of Krafty" and "can I have a copy of Krafty" threads down to manageable proportions.

agreed. let's just hope they stay around and aren't eaten by bears, slain by ninjas, or whatever happens to those who 'disappear.'

I will delete any thread specifying that somebody wants a copy of Krafty...

I let the Radio 1 thread, but gee, don't push the luck too far.

I dont see any problem in having a copy of the radio playing. You never recorded radio songs in your old sound system in the 80's, in K7? This is promo time! We are all fans and wanted to hear it. The French can and we not?

It is great to see all the interest - awesome in fact!! :)

One thing for EVERYONE to remember, is that ALL of us were newbies at one point. Not everyone knows everything about Joy Division/New Order - just some know more than others.

If anyone asks a very basic question, just point them to the FAQ section, gig section, lyrics, biographies, etc as appropriate... :thumb:

is it true new order were once a different band called love will tear us apart?

i also got confused once because there are 2 bands named new order. i like the new wave disco band that did bizarre love triangle, but at tower records, i found there's another new order doing depressing punkish stuff. someone's getting sued soon...

btw i really like new order's cover of that kylie tune, can't get you out of my head.

Chris, perehaps we need to start a thread where we post the link to our first posts?:laugh::laugh:

I think mine had to do with the availability of the original 12" of Confusion on cd.

It's true. My first two posts were about A) Gillian and B) a U.S. tour. I certainly learned my lesson then.

Good to see a flood of new people around these parts. A lot of us locals (myself included) were attracted here by the promise of Get Ready.

I don't see it either Andrei, but I sure don't want to piss the label at this point neither.

This is why I'm redirecting people on BBC's website, after all, it's online, so anybody can record it with little knowledge.

But we're grey market here... if I want to have a bond for everybody on this site with the band, we better keep this low profile.

Twist - I think the first thing I asked here was something along the lines of... 'Is this site up and running yet?'

Think my first post had to do with Jeff's then-employer Target running an ad for Get Ready, with the pic for Low-life in the circular ad....:laugh:

Can we have a newbie free forum. To qualify you would have to have say 200 posts, or pass a test on your New Order knowledge. Some of us are wanting to start strangling a newbie. :D

A New Order test would be pretty fun! Oh, and I knew to lurk on here for a bit so I didn't ask the dreaded questions.

Sorry, but the other New Order (Ron Asheton from the Stooges) were around well before even Joy Division started making records..... like around 1975.

My first post was probably looking for a Brixton ticket in 2001. My last post will probably be looking for a Brixton ticket in 2005!

ok I've got a real newbie question for you, vets : have NO ever played "What do you want from me ?" live ? do you think there is a chance they will some day ?

(the fact is I am currently listening to it for the 15th time in a row : I didn't remember how powerful and catchy it was, leaving Krafty far behind.... :evil4:)

No, never - in fact, none of the side project stuff has been performed by New Order, unless you count Vanishing Point and WIFM, both of which started their lives as Other Two instrumentals I think.

Now be nice and leave Krafty alone!

ha ha. thanks for the info, but if you read my whole post, i was kidding around. my "new order doing depressing punkish stuff" was referring to new order circa movement.
