I was listening to the radio last night, and a really good version of Subculture was played. I’m not much of a fan of the song, but liked this version better than the original.

According to the DJ, it was a version given out in a 7” free with “Record Mirror” back in the day. Is it on CD? Where can I get it?

Nah, it was flexi disc only. Cracking version though.

Actually, I've just had to edit this - was it a flexi, or a 'proper' 7"?! So far back I can't remember now.

I'll email you it when I get home from work.

Send me a message to my hotmail account and I'll reply later.

It's an edited down version, if memory serves (which it probably doesnae) it was done by Sam West. I always thought it was John Robie, but someone on here pointed out it wasn't. Razormaid have the full length version as Subculture V.0

Laters.

It was a 7' Single single you old cunt.

I thought I had succesfully stolen this from John, till that Hubert put up the record collection thread. I stupidly said I had it, John knew it was his and took it back.

Sometimes I need to stay quiet:ignore:

It was a 7", and also featured tracks from Raymonde, Hipsway and the Railway Children. Rather good too.

It's still fairly easy to get hold of, pops up quite regularly on E-bay and some specialist on-line retailers occasionaly have it in stock.

Don't think the Railway Children were on it. Cocteau's perhaps? Orange Appled.

It was on the only Irish Radio show worth listening to, "the small hours", usually with Donal Dineen, but with Leagues o'Toole last night. I emailed him, but diddnt get a reply.
