I was going to do some big speech thingy for the 10,000th post, thanking those who deserve thanks and all that. Then I thought bollocks to it, it's all about the music. That's why we are all here in the first place, this band. Four ruffians from Rusholme, as Alan Wise has probably called them at some stage. To the good guys, thank you for being here. To the bad guys, life's too short.

Anyway, the 10k will be marked. I have here, sat on my desk, ten copies of a New Order live CD, recorded 22 years ago tonight. They are all recorded, packed and ready to go to ten lucky people, wherever in the world they may live, including Brazil.

To get your mitts on one, you will need to do two things.

  1. What unique significance does this recording hold? It could change in the future, but at present this particular trainspotting fact holds good.

  2. Make me laugh - any way you see fit. If you get the first question right and make me laugh as well, you win.

Answers by e-mail only. If you need to ask the address, you ain't gonna win!

If somebody would have told me somebody would have reached this milestone, I would have laughed at him.

Now look at me, I'm following way too close behind... ;)

Fuckin ell!

10,000?

Fair play me ole fruitcake. We've had the odd run in now and again;) But I can remember the OLD Sloppy Guiseppe with all the wisecracks that used to cheer me up when I used to get home at 10.30 at night and come straight online. To the neworder trainspotter of all-time. You've also done yersel proud with one or two wee gems sent my way, and ma da loves the Dylan stuff you've sent!!! See you at the gigs and I'll get you a

The start date is wrong Floyd! October 01 is a lot nearer the mark. Still, East is East, West is West, but when the Order are on it's the best.

got the gig and a funny - don't know yor email; and don't know why that gig is so pivotal unless you were the starstruck fan that started singing to barney and froze up when he came over to chat... read a bunch of live concert reviews from early 1983...can't figure it out -:\ohwell:

once you've settled out the 10 winners will you let us in on in this?

Wierd that this is probably the 6th time I've looked at this forum, spotted the moniker of the poster, saw the question about the significance of said date and found that nobody yet has spotted it!

Obviously (as if I really have to spell it out) this gig was the only time that Ultraviolence was played as the 3rd song but while following Age Of Consent.

I can see you all nodding sagely.

Look forward to my next post in 2006.
