Ah I think he looks alright. Still looking pretty cool really. Age isn't nice though is it. I'm sure if he lost some weight he could look more like he used to but none the less the guys getting older and u do change, 40+ u totally change. It's quite remarkaable when you look at a nice pic of bernard in the 80s and then look at that picture though. Totally different person almost.

And Hooky looks like some cop from a 70s TV series or something... Phil will always look as the lucky young fan... the only cool looking member left is Steve, who's younger anyway, I think he's still 46 years old? Let's see him in a couple of years... Anyway I have some mates at work who are in their mid forties and still look way older than Barney and Hooky, they are still alright.

That picture of Bernard pissed is f***ing awful.

Have any of you actually thought about it though. Bernard looks so different now to how he used to be, very very very different indeed. Looks so different it's scary.

His face is a lot broader than it used to be. That happens with age. Hookey's as well but it happened a lot earlier with him.

Wow, that picture shows he hasn't aged too gracefully. Maybe he needs the Simon LeBon makeover.

It all goes to show what a talented individual Bernard really is. Not content with his seamless replacement of Richard Whiteley on Countdown, even down to the annoying bow ties and the vocal inflections, or his standing in for David Caruso on CSI Miami, he is now able to present an authentic alternative to William Shatner. You can't say it doesn't really matter......

You should take all the advantages of the age into account : he's far better at ease on stage, he gets in touch with the audience more often than before and he sings about lake, trees and the human race...

Well I quite like the slightly embarrassed look on Barney's face in Q interview. He will always look gorgeous to me anyway and would certainly like a trip up the 'M1' with him...! pnarr pnarr!! However, I can confirm, I have some equally 'attractive' photos I took on New Years Eve In brighton ! will do my best to share with you-much whistling and gurning in evidence-not making for the most flattering of pics!;) but he is still and always will be...my perfect man....

Poor Barney, every time a picture comes out he gets slated on here for his appearance (bless em).

I don't think he looks old for his age at all, it's just that he looked really young for so many years. Plus, we all look dodgy when we've had too much to drink so you can't really have a go at him that much in that picture where he looks a bit worse for wear.

As for Hooky, I don't think he's changed that much over the last few years and William Shatner looks V young for his age

It doesn't matter what they look like to me, as long as the music still hits the spot.

The Q photo was just a bad pic - end of story. In the photo in Burn magazine I'd say Barney still looks good for his age.

It was at the 'Return to New York' night at the Great Eastern Hotel in London in Feb 03, both Hooky and Barney were djing - got to see them in the restaurant next door also which was a bonus!

*You must be joking... New Order aren't Blue or any other fookin boy band, they are post punk heroes and they can look how they like. I've always loved the fact they never conformed to any fashion standard (I mean they weren't like The Cure who falled into the Goth look...) This has inspired my way of dressing too, I don't need to dress weird to be a punk, this is the lesson... the Pixies too... they dress so ordinary, and yet they still seriously kick ass and piss over any wannabe punk or metal band... Thats why I always like New Order... they avoided the poser B.S. of the pop scene and of their contempories like Robert Smith, Depeche Mode, Peter Murphy...

The Rolling Stones appear to work out cause they know it helps their image. Aerosmith works out also and can sell their image, even thou they are years away from even pretending to be a vital band. I'm sure magazine editors are considering on how much coverage to give to New Order in the next few months, and the fact that the guys are getting really hard to photograph respectably is a weighing factor unfortunately
