So much so that vertigo is a direct rip off of isolation!
And we all know Bernards charity work and 3rd world fund ![]()
On "the culture show" there was an interview with the director of Closer, who said he took the name from his favourite album.
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers & Smashing pumpkins obviously.
And Tony Wilson!
The footballer was Irelands number two goalie, Dean Keily. Named Technique as his favourite album, in general.

Pat Nevin, Joy Division fan.
Jeremy Vine (ex-Newsnight) - he was also at their Jules Holland performance (as was John Simms - who played Barney in 24 Hour Party People)
In terms of musicians, too many to name... :)

Pat Nevin, Joy Division fan.
As I mentioned before, Pat Nevin negotiated a clause in his contract with Chelsea that he could leave the following week's friendly against Brentford at half time to catch New Order at the Festival Hall. He also acted as chauffeur and hairbrush supplier for Hooky in Glasgow last September!
Read about some woman that participates in RAAM (Race Across America--bicycle race 8 days the record) listened to New Order to keep her going. These racers do not get off their bikes for the first 48 hours, sleep maybe 2 hours a night and live on a liquid diet. Very, very grueling event.
For some reason I read an interview with jason donavon in the 80's and he said he was a NO fan, anyone remember the band It bites, they said NO where the worst band, where are they now!!! twats
The Killers!? If it weren't for New Order and their Crystal video, we wouldn't have these guys. I think they should just cover Crystal already and pay ultimate tribute that way.

Can't remember his name, but he was a detective in The Bill. Saw him at Reading - both times.
& Chemical Bros. obviously.
John Peel - I still miss him.:(
Anybody mention Sean Hughes yet? He was there at the Jools Holland thing of course:
"whatever happened to the thin guy on Bass?"
That 'plastic Jesus' song is on Retroforward at the mo![]()
George Michael. Closer is his all time favourite album. Many others... more than we think... can't be arsed to remember furthermore though... ;)
Spotted at last Brixton gigs: "Phil Mitchell" from Eastenders.... (with big boys who looked like bouncers) ![]()

What about all the folks interviewed in the "New Order Story" video? Its been so long since I've seen it, I forgot who most of them were except for Bono and Neil Tennant (of Pet Shop Boys) - who recalled being extremily dissapointed when Blue Monday came out because he said it was the record he always had in his head but could never express.
