I've got it!

Managed to download the album this afternoon... On first listen it seems that there are a few corkers - "Who's Joe" is a great opener, "Hey Now What You Doing" another belter with a bit of classic Neil Young guitar, the track with the Scissor Sisters chick is great (and I hate the Scissor Sisters!), going to be a big hit... and "Turn" is another one that stood out on first listen, really poppy.. An d the title track sounds like a real epic..

Overall it sounds less programmed/Pro-Toolsed than "Get Ready", which is a good thing, but not quite as dancey as I'd expected. Typical Barney lyrics - and those worried about some of the lines on "Krafty" shouldn't worry, there's nothing as dodgy as the "human race" line..except for maybe one about "writing songs on your computer" or something - and Hooky's loud in the mix on pretty all the tracks, so no worries there. There are a few tracks that I didn't "get" on first listen, but I'm gonna crack open a bottle of red wine and go and check it all out again.

But on first listen, it seems it's a great record - it sounds more confident than a lot of "Get Ready", and has throwbacks to some of "Brotherhood", "Technique" and "Republic". Yes!

Hey, I know people get a kick out of wind-ups like this, but I'm for real! Anyone that wants it from me, well I'll sort something out! I'm just so excited about the live shows now, knowing that they're not gonna be padded out with crap album tracks...

Look, it was always going to leak. All albums do. And the real fans will still buy it when it comes out. I'm not going to share it on P2P, if that makes you feel any better - I was just desperate to hear the songs, so I took the chance when I had it...

I know it has leaked and heard it too.. but I just don't want an invasion of people begging for the album on the forum, because the band management is watching.

Can't stop anyone from doing anything in private, but on the forum, I won't let it happen. I've seen what happened with Krafty already.

I agree with you 99.99% of the time Nic but am put off a bit by your comment about Krafty. There is a WORLD of difference IMO about people asking for a copy of a song recorded off of the radio airwaves that they weren't even on the same continent to hear and asking for digital copies of an upcoming album.

I agree with you that this forum is not the place to be offering to share nor soliciting for digital copies of copyrighted music...but come on...when its recorded on the radio for pete's sake?

I would guess that part of the reason that you get promos is likely because of the support for this site and the reach that you have due to the site...otherwise you would just be another fan like the rest of us and have to wait your turn.

One of the best things about this site has been the fact that true fans come together to SHARE their affection for NO. When I hear you talk about "begging" it kinda pisses me off...if NO did a radio interview in South Amerida and you wanted a copy...would that be "begging"?
