They look genuine to me. Simply because the artwork and writing on the discs match the other photos I have seen of the said promos. Also if you look very carefully you can see the "data amount burned" edge (I.e. 45 mins of an 80 min disc used) on the front of the disc along with the writing. I would imagine that "shadow" would be quite difficult to fabricate on a bootleg. That is assuming the photo is of the actual discs being sold, but putting aside my cynical nature it does look trustworthy enough.
As for the auction sure, I wouldn't mind them either. I do have a set of high quality MP3s (192kbps) from that particular True Faith CD promo so I basically have the musical content but owning the discs themselves would also be nice. However I've just noticed the guy with the same handle "bigoljohnd" who if my memory serves me correctly paid over 72 quid for the Krafty promos, a clearly ridiculous amount, has just started ramping up the bid price already. No offence to the guy if he's a fellow NOOLer, but he very obviously hasn't quite got the hang of bidding efficiently on eBay. There is ZERO point in bidding on an item 6 days before it's end, and to do so is demonstrating a huge amount of naivety especially for a bidder of his supposed experience. All this will do is cause a massive price inflation battle which makes no sense for anyone let alone someone really wanting it. By showing your interest and placing a maximum bid so early in the auction's life you may as well chuck your cash down the drain. I bid on eBay auctions in the final minutes (often minute) and I have a very good success rate for getting what I want. But people like the guy above push the price further and further up rather than demonstrating a bit of intelligence and adding it to their watch list while quietly biding their time.
Sorry but that sort of clear brainlessness on eBay really gets my goat. My MSN name was "Newbie eBayers are utter numpties" for a good long while because one obvious new user ended up causing a price battle that cost me at least an extra £15 on a rare CD single I was after. It took me a few auctions to figure out when to place bids efficiently getting what I wanted in the end; the last minute bid approach is not rocket science! However any price battle is obviously good news for the seller.
