why is it new order never seem to release the best songs off the albums as singles? (for example Primitive notion, vanishing point, special, paradise, run this river dry, etc..), ive heard 10 of the 11 tracks off the new album and i think they all sound great in their own right but my personal favs are, turn, morning night and day, jetstream and wftsc..........

whoa, deja vu. I swear i just read this post somewhere else.
why? plenty of reasons. record labels (Republic), bets (Technique) and drugs (the Rest) probably all factor. Plus, they've never been the best at marketing or promotion so the poor choice in singles is a type of self-sabotage. They pretend to want to succeed but deep down, they're more comfortable failing.
Who are we to judge the selection of the singles?
They have been working on these songs for so long, they should know by now.
However it would have been a nice idea to ask fans which song should have been the 3rd single.. not that I mind Jetstream, but if you are releasing 3 singles, it might be a good idea to know what fans would like to see...
Or put remixes of other album tracks on singles (Like they did for 60MAH)

It's not 'the fans' singles are aimed at though, is it? Surely that's the same for every band? They're just going for singles which they presume will give them most commerical success, and therefore win over an entirely new audience.
If that was the case I'd have had Sunrise, Face Up and Age of Consent as standout singles. Not sure the band or record company would agree though?

well, you see, my personal fav is dracula's castle, and i think morning night and day and jetstream are amongst the worst tracks they've ever made. So what should Warner do now? Listen to you or to me???
What we should really do is poll people who buy singles but aren't NO fans - see which songs THEY like. Singles are for them NO are for us
Here's an idea. Leak the album on purpose, then set up an official poll on a website asking the fans themselves which songs they think would work best as singles.

I agree with the orginal post that scott wrote but then again i suppose we should be gratful that They are still producing singles and albums

You are right... singles are aimed for newbies.
However, it would be nice to have goodies for the fans on them. Sure, there are 4 remixes of Krafty coming up, but would it be a problem to include, let's say, a remix of Vanishing Point? :D
You see the point... but we all know this will never happen... (and I'd shoot myself if they would do a shit remix)
