No problem... It's given me some faith for the new album as I certainly wasn't bowled over by Krafty.

I've listened to WFTSC about 50 times over the last three days and I think the person one cubicle over is about to pour scalding coffee over the divider to get me to stop.

I'm beginning to feel like Milton in OFFICE SPACE lstening to his music but I don't care... While certainly not the greatest New Order track ever, it's enough to remind me why they're my favorite band and make me optimistic about the new record.

I'm not bowled over by Krafty OR WFTSC. WFTSC is the better of the two, but they are both missing something - seem a bit 'bland' - if the whole album seems like that I'll be starting a 'Bring Back Gillian' campaign for the next album

I agree that it's not up to par with the best stuff.

Funnily enough I also think that Gillian not being around probably has harmed them a bit.

I always got the impression that she was a truly awful musician (watching her actually have to stare intently at the guitar neck to pick out simple notes and watching her stare intently at a keyboard to pick out even simpler chords is painful) and that Barney actually wrote and probably sequenced the keyboard parts in the studio and she sort of stood there in concert and played the easy parts over the sequences...

That said there has been a departure in sound (perhaps inevitable) and in song quality since she left so maybe she actually did more than I thought...

If nothing else, maybe she served as a good sounding board at saying what was crap and what wasn't.
