Krafty chart position

Hasn't had thatmuch airplay , and I'm not sure if the video has been played very often. But NO as a band are getting a lot of publicity.

Krafty reminds me of the type of song that doesn't get played a lot to start off with. I remember Modest Mouse's "The Ocean Breathes Salty" and I hardly got played when it came out but it wound up being one of the top singles/songs played on the radio.

I think Krafty might of have the same appeal if it got played. Hopefully anyway, it will or the next single will. Often North America misses the fist single or two (The Music had 2 and the new album was a hit here for example with its 3rd single)

My guess is it will chart at about No 7, then drop about 5 places after a Top of the Pops appearance. Then drop to about 35 like everything does in the monotonous UK singles charts.

However, I still think there's an outside chance with the wind in the right direction that it could be a surprise big hit. Krafty might just appeal to a new crowd of people who've never bought New Order before. It's a catchy little song that might just pick up big time if played enough. I seriously think there's a very slim chance it could go to number 1, now that we have the smallest selling number ones in a dwindling chart. Depending upon which Elvis Presley re-release comes out that week, of course. (What a pointless exercise that is, devalues the charts even more!). Only the other week a very average Manic Street Preachers song went in at No 2, that was already available on a released album, so that's why I think New Order could possibly fluke it. Then again if there's a load of Urban chav shit released that week it will do well to make No 10.

I have just got back from a week in Gran Canaria where I heard Krafty and Guilt is a Useless Emotion played in a bar!

As soon as I got in the house I put on MTV2 and Krafty video was playing, turned over to VH2 and it was on there too!

Plus the family who went with us on holiday had 2 lads aged 14 and 16 with them and were listening to WFTSC on my MP3 player and thought it was awesome. They said all their mates are into New Order now because of Franz F, The Doves, The Killers etc who have all been influenced by NO.

This gives me hope for a high chart entry for Krafty!!

Depends if they make any personal appearances before the chart deadline. If they do, it'll be top 10 and then a rapid nosedive. If they stick to the video only it'll be no.1.

Well if any TOTP performance is as bad as the NME awards one, they'll never sell another record in this country!

I'd say if it doesn't get to at least #4 it will be a major disappointment. I'm basing this on the fact that Erasure (not a group I'm a fan of) got to #4 in January. Erasure's previous single in 2003 got to #13. Here to stay got to #15 in 2002. So taking into account that NO are more popular and have a bigger fan base than Erasure do today; that Krafty has had a bigger push than the Erasure single; and that downloading means less copies need to be sold to chart high, then a top five place is to be expected.

Definitly top ten - it takes so little sales these days that just us lot buying it could push it top 30; there are others out there who will buy it also.

US Chart : won't stand a chance, except if Lil Jon's in it e.g. Krafty (Crunk Remix feat 50 Cents)

reckon Jetstream would have been a nailed on number one considering it features NO, Scissor Scisters and Jacques LeCont. Everyone loves all three at the moment.

Krafty will go top 5 still i'd imagine - being as you need to sell about 20 copies to achieve this nowadays

I reckon it'll go top ten, no problem. Especially with the exposure the band are getting at the moment.
