Official Krafty Release Day Thread

Great news, Nicholas. Gonna wait for the US release of Krafty... after I've already spent some $$$ on the English one :)

Oh well, if only I read this thread earlier... I ordered this 2CD singles set because it wasn't listed anywhere else (does it actually exist?). Thought the video was exclusive to this set but apparently it's included on every CD2 though it's not listed! Didn't think about the charts, but of course I'd have ordered the two copies together anyway since making two separate orders would have been stupid because of shipping costs... Can't wait to receive it though, hoping that EIL is as quick and reliable as Sister Ray... bought something from them in the past and had no problem, but it was a couple of years ago in the old days of the International Money Order... Hey apparently the 2CD set is more expensive than the same two CDs making it!!!

I think the new single sleeve is a little better than the one that was previewed. It's still kinda blah, though.

But if the ad for the LP in Mojo is the real cover (golden brown instead of orange, no band name or title on it), then it's roughly seven-hundred times better and has gone from being one of their worst sleeve to being one of their best.

As for the remixes, the Glimmers 12" extended mix is so dull it's wonderful, the Phones Reality mix is absolutely fantastic (smells like sex), and the other two are just beyond pointless (although the pasting in of the glorious synth ascent from "All day long" in the Andy Green remix is kinda funny).

Worth eight bucks? No way. But I won't resell it.

well... I liked the preview artwork much more than this one...

Marco, not sure if it's been mentioned, but the two CD singles have slightly different sleeves. The 2-track one has the image zoomed out and the lens flare is still on the car.

The confusion with the 'album edit', 'Andy Green remix' as pointed out above, IS that they are wrongly labelled. Track 3 is an edit from the album (it's pretty much identical, just stops suddenly), Track 4 is a completely different mix from the album, or single, and is in my opinion the best of the mixes (although I haven't heard the Riton one, or Glimmers dub - somebody give us a break :)). BTW it's mad that you can buy the remix CD for £2.99, but can't get them online unless you pay more. Bonkers. Innit?

I see. But still, the black-and-white was way better IMHO.

Not sure I agree. I can understand the rationale behind the argument, but the Andy Green remix was on the mixes promo and is indeed track 3 of the bona-fide release.

Still waiting for my copies to be sent from Amazon.

Nah, use your ears not your eyes! Just because it says "Andy Green remix" doesn't mean it is. Is it not conceivable that the incorrect association was made BEFORE the CDs were mastered. Remember, we're talking about the band responsible for the biggest selling 12" single of all time, several thousand copies of which shipped with the labels on the wrong way round;)

And just to hammer home the impression that I'm as anally retentive as the next man, when were the missing two beats from the beginning of Blue Monday restored? Was it on later pressings of the 12" or only when they released Substance? Or did I just imagine that they were missing in the first place? And while I'm on the subject, how many other people erroneously believe that FIRST PRESSINGs of BM have a BLACK inner sleeve?

I have to agree that the tracks must be mis-labeled. The track that is labeled a re-edit is obviously a remix.

I can sumarise my feelings:

'Balmy evening in summer', 'fine wine', 'crashing for the night'. I Told Your Soap on low.

Again, it's not the best, but it is far better than the two not so good songs from GR, which itself was a fine album.

Your 'film theory' is thus; 'All films are fundamentaly flawed' (probably a paraphrase but you get your own meaning).

I am trying to make a point that all re-mixes are fundamentaly flawed. Accordingly, Pastie's 'film theory' applies. Its application is perfect as it will again polarise opinions:

'Don't be daft, some films are pure genius'

'I agree - most films have a dirty section in the middle'
