I'm not sure if this topic is such a good idea, don't know if it can't work out, but I gonna give it a try anyway.

Here's the idea :

There's a lot of regular posters here (Hunsty, Martian, Muffy, Patrick, Shug, Jeff White or whatever his name is at the moment, Seb Briggs, Seb and Nic, Liv, Sophisticated Lady, Mario, Marco, Taboo, Facsy, Dutch Jim, Allen, Coen, Old Blue, Hank, See Ye Tan, Ahmad, Candy The DOg, King Of Nothing, Major, Ben, Pitch, Antoine, April, Velocity Girl, Sarah Middle, Inta Don, Iain, Green, Brian, Zico, Socrates, Sparky, Phil, François-Marc, Michael, Scott, Mitch, Heather, even Jerry and all the ones I'm forgetting about - hope you forgive me) and, if we should draw some kind of typology, who would be who ?

I mean, each has a very distinctive character (Muffy being the sex obsessed one, for instance). So, let's try to find out to which superficial type each one belongs (knowing that it's just for fun as I don't really want to put anyone in a box). It can be a fictional character, some famous people...

Ok, let's do it, boys and girls...

...nice topic :D

well, a good choice for me would be "bender", one of the characters of the "Simpsons" follow-up series "Futurama"...the robot...sarcastic...cynical...and always in a bad mood when he's running out of beer...

cheers.

I reckon Dopey from the 7 dwarves would suit me.In different explanations...either the dopeheaded goofball or the stress-is-a-word-not-to-be-found-in-my-dictionary type. Pick the one you like.

But eeeh, whats yours then Buster

Well...

I don't know if it's really true or not...but my family swears that the character on the show "Friends" that goes by the name of Chandler is me...I've never seen it, so I couldn't tell you...but in real life I'm the one that says and does outrageous things just to see if I can get a rise or a laugh out of someone...

How is it that you've never seen Friends, Jeff? How is that possible?

Well, I'll have to think about that one, Mario, since the idea of this topic was to characterize the other posters.

Now, defining yourself is interesting too, I must admit.

So, I'll think about myself but try to think of how you percieve the others too...

Thing is, in the 'Friends's cast, Chandler is obviously the closer to me...

Patrick...remember...I work overnight...so I am asleep while primetime is on...and while the reruns are on at 5 and 10 here...that is also during my dream time...I've missed out on a lot over the past several years...as far as TV goes...

That's a shame, Jeff. I'm not a regular watcher, but on occasion Friends can be extremely funny.

[Galileo....GALILEO.....Galileo......GALILEO......Galileo .....GALILEO..... finger my hole.....

My friend used to call me "Bridget Jones", but that has recently become "Linda Green" who is, for those of you who dont know, sort of Bridget Jones on acid.

Personally i like to think of myself as more of a Marilyn Monroe/Mae West type....although the Linda Green anaology is cool :)

Liv  *Come up and see me sometime...*

I'd have to be Homer Simpson - loads of similar characteristics, both like beer, both work in a dead-end job, both like the girlies, both of us fuck about quite a lot, both enjoy a good moan:lol: The only differences I can think of - is he's married, has kids, and he's fat and bald....but other than that;)

Funny you should say that because some say I am like Monica on Friends (Courtney Cox's character) because I am such a neat freak like her :P

I always used to identify w/ two characters in the TV series Northern Exposure. That'd be the DJ, Chris in the morning, who was able to relate various aspects of life's mysteries together, whether by quoting T.S. Eliot or Carl Sagan or Joseph Campbell, and yet remain humble in his use of knowledge.

The other would be Dr. Fleischmann. I'm not nearly as neurotic as he was, but I recognized his frustration when others would not measure up to his own lofty standards, yet he eventually came to appreciate those same people by giving in to the inexorable draw of the beauty that surrounded him.

Bottom line: people are always asking me about things in history, books, music, current affairs, how to spell certain words, definitions, etc. I was taken aback last week when no one at work knew what Scylla and Charybdis was, even those who had gone to college and read a lot. Sometimes living here, it is like talking to yourself.:nonono:

I'm afraid I fall into the football loving, beer drinking, farting loudly blokey stereotype!

However, I love my wife and son, and would give you my last pound if it would help you out....
