News of The Wake

Just received this e-mail from James Nice of LTM record label. Outlines some releases by former Factory The Wake which is of interest to some of you folks. The website is:

I know - you've all got far better things to do at the time of year than look at the LTM website....BUT

I've just updated the WAKE pages, so there's a more detailed biography to read, plus a band catalog page which finally gives full details of the next three Wake CDs due in February 2002, Here Comes Everybody, Assembly, and Holy Heads.

You'll also find full details of the two upcoming JOSEF K discs too.

That's wonderful news - i've been waiting for SO LONG for the Wake's back catalogue to come out on CD (bar their 2 albums for Sarah Records that is). So that is such belatedly welcome news - about time I say!

Here Comes Everybody is a gorgeously melodic record - crisp wintery sunshine music par excellence (it certainly isn't what I'd call a summer record....). My vinyl version is so crackly now it's almost unplayable. Had it since the day it came out - Nov 1985.

So THANKS Disky my friend. Now at last I've got something to be truly happy about....... :) :) :)

God, the Wake were dire, i saw em support New Order a few times. They thought they were Joy Division, but they were just crap.

This is bizarre, I bought the 'Assembly' cd last week (Radio Sessions, Live etc) and somebody resurrects this thread - well spooky!
