Sorry to nag some people who never got the chance to listen to the track yet, but IMHO, this is the best New Order B-Side to date...
After a lot of listening, I just like this song, as much as most tracks on Get Ready.
And I'll put back this topic when it will be released to see your comments. Maybe the lyrics are weak (don't mind much if they are) but it's a typical good New Order track.
I hope the final mix will have more of Hooky on it, and then it would be perfect.
i love this song. actually, i kinda like the lyrics too. it's not a joke/ it's not even funny/and i'm not broke/i don't want your money ... is one of the best opening lines ever. the main problem is the chorus doesn't fit with the rest of the lyrics. did they retouch sabotage for the single?

Player's got absolutely dreadful lyrics though, true. But the chorus is catchy - if only they could rewrite the words (that "Yeah! Yeah!" bit is tosh).

And i forgot to say it's a very good instrumental, by the way. but i cannot see how a final mix could have more hooky on it, as it is already just a strong bassline which drives the tune(!)

Can't comment on the audiogalaxy version, but the [ahem] 'official' version is a good 4-5mins with a trite lyric. From what I remember, the bass takes a good while to come in, and isn't very 'clean' - just seems to be Hooky meandering over it a bit. The track sounds very 'unfinished'.
Ive liked all the b-sides. probably prefered Behind Closed Doors though. Still baffling why they put the truly dire Slow Jam on the LP when they had a 3 far superior tunes in the cupboard.

Pitch, not sure if you got what Jade said but I had the same problem on audiogalaxy. There is a way to find it if it's still up.
1)You do a search for "player in the league"
2) click on the title
3) when the screen comes up click on "get an exact version" or whatever it says that is similar
4) pick a version that is like five min and 30sec long, whatever Jade said above
5) enjoy the good song with stupid lyrics
6) download ad aware from cnet.com or zdnet.com
7) delete that shitty spy software that came bundled with audiogalaxy

By the by, Pitch, compliments. Obviously, I couldn't tell that English is a second (or third?) language for you. I am jealous. I'm with the webmaster on this one...I don't know if turn my way will be released in Europe...but the Warner Brothers folk would be complete idiots not to release that one over here...it is a brilliant song...and the whol BC connection would probably help it out quite a bit...but we already know they folks at London and WB are not the brightest light in the chandalier....

...of course..."Turn my way" would be a brilliant single, but as you said...people working at record companies are complete failures.... ;)
What about Primitive Notion? It may not have the bald-headed pasty looking guy, but they could always add Rock The Shack - Destiny's Child Special Edition as a B side to attract the MTV crowd.
