But Truth is a load of shit !!

Yeah, I haven't liked Truth much since catching the Taras Shevchenko performance (poor Barney!)

A triple cd would be pushing it for me, if they were actually decide to do the Best of route again....

Oh come on ! It's a half-finished thing that doesn't ever go anywhere. It sounds like the sort of thing Joy Division would have rejected, but New Order didn't have the Curtis quality control button. Mind you, most of Movement sounds like that ! Certain Movemnet songs nick bits from Joy Division so blatantly - ie Chosen Time's drum pattern is identical to These Days, most of the ICB bass is the same as Dead Souls (debut of ICB at Rotterdam I was convinced it was Dead Souls for about a minute, as were most of the audience !)

I agree most of it sounds of JD - but that's what ye'd expect mate - thank fuck they didn't go in the direction of fuckin Soft Cell and countless other fuckwits. I think their own style appeared in 82 with Temptation and EGG:nod: IMHO

Sorry to spoil the party but can I ask you a little question Taboo?? How many times have you been resurrecting this particular thread and re-titling it just so that everybody is fooled into thinking they've not been here before? Reminds me a bit like those annoying [Christmas] compilations which have all the same tracks on them but repackaged with a different cover and track order each time its re-released each year. Time for some new ideas, me thinks. Hmmmm. :nono:

Methinks (as Marty would say) we have rumbled ye:evil: So there's no point denying it twatface:lol:

No, No, and for a third time, NO, it ISN'T Marty!
So stop trying to be clever and oh-so-smart. :nonono: I'm "close" because I - unlike you lot - have known the grumpy bastard as a bezzy mate for fifteen years - like I said earlier we used to produce fanzines together when he still lived here in Liverpool so we DO think and share many similar things, otherwise he wouldn't have told me about this message board in a fit of deranged enthusiasm when he emailed me with the soddin' details back in November from Amsterdam. And for the record, the "Treadmill" fanzine that we both used to do was fucking cool in that we both could rip to shreds anything that we felt was worthy of ridicule or contempt, so on that front alone we shared many similarities. And yes, I too hate Xmas compilations - and this frankly ridiculous obsession with lists and all that bollocks - but haven't you lot not noticed anything? Marty has posted a few "list" threads during his time here, but I haven't , simply because I find all these lists of best ofs incredibly tedious. I looks like Mart just has too much time on his hands - I've lost count of how many threads he's posted on here just slagging everything off. And I haven't even the time to read anyof them - just seeing the topic titles popping up here and there gives me a fair indication of what to expect from that almighty gob of his. (S'true - the bastard never stops talking in reality either). You should have seen some of our fanzine features, especially the one where I laid into Richard Ashcroft of [The] Verve back in 1992 - makes Mart's recent Anti-Jamie Oliver diatribes look positively congratulatory.
What's more, I'm only browsing here tonight because my girlfriend's got the kids with her family instead of me (another factor that explains my less-than-frequent postings), so I'm a bit bored, and feeling of a somewhat sadistic inclination, decided to log in and see what festive shite everyone's been spouting of late.

BTW, much as I admire the catankerous old sod that is Martin, I'm fucking outraged that you motley bunch can see fit to even accuse ME of actually being him under yet another pseudonym (I know all about his Gary Ritman thing - cos he soddin' well told me about it, OK? ). He's sad, but not THAT fucking sad, you know! That is incredibly misguided of you, and for that I hereby say : Fuck Off You Fishlipped Scandalmongering Twats!

Fuck me, you must be really missing him if you're all getting so worked up about people who you think may be impersonating him or vice versa!..... Get a soddin' life will ya??!! :nonono:

You never learn do you, "Sherlock" ? So is Tim "Holmes" then? [ha ha ha] Stoppit Stoppit Stoppit, yer killing me!!
[laughs until his sides split]

Anyway, I'm off now to listen to a great Sonic Youth live CD bootleg I got last week from my missus. [here's a fact for yer - Marty fuckin' HATES Sonic Youth - he thinks they're overrated tuneless shite!]

Well, It's very dificult to put the best trcks together because you know they are all very good. I think, the fan tracks are a lot diferent of the regular consumers. So that's my idea for the "Regular Version" to New Order listeners:

  1. Ceremony
  2. Temptation 1987
  3. Blue Monday 12" Mix
  4. Love Vigilantes
  5. Perfect Kiss
  6. Bizarre Love Triangle (Shep Petibone Mix)
  7. True Faith
  8. Round & Round
  9. Dream Atack
  10. Regret
  11. Crystal
  12. 60 mph

Impossible to make my one (the best of) because it changes a lot with time.

it would be called

Age of Consent a box set like heart and soul and would have everything except World in Motion and Rock The Shack
