You'll have to excuse the Cure cover!
Well yes the original plan may have been to do JD stuff when we started, but as we all like NO and have recorded (and sold!) their stuff then there's no reason really why we shouldn't promote our versions of NO stuff.
At the end of the day, it's all about playing good music and enjoying it. And we do.

We wouldn't be as bold as to suggest we are the UK's top NO tribute ![]()

Fair enough, I didn't know you were supposed to be a New Order cover aswell. I've never seen you play without RO, but will do in July.
I wasn't particularly referring to the gig tomorrow - it was just a genuine question. I am not arguing from the corner of Re:Order, as I am not in the band of course.
See you tomorrow.
Get there early, we may be buying! I will even put you all on the guest list ;)
I`ve only just found out about this! And the Joy Division night in Manchester that started at 7 about 30 miles from me!!
Anyway id love to come down for this tomorrow! When does it start, as i wont be able to get down till about 8?
Cheers
Edd
Yes, there has been lots of debate about the evening, but nothing that informs us of timings. Please let us know!
We understand that doors open at 7pm, and that we will be on at 8.30. Re: Order will be on at 10.00 (though I stand corrected on this), which gives them up to 4 hours for their set.
Anyone wanting to tape or video it, feel free (provided we get a copy!)

I sometimes get confused which band I'm in, let alone what songs we'll be playing. ;)
Whatever happens, hopefully both bands will have a good night. And those coming along who are kind enough to support both bands hopefully will have an even better one.
Hope to see you all there ![]()
If it all goes wrong I'll be the one looking like this ![]()

I'll be in a rather lush single-breasted suit from Jermyn Street, complete with cyan pin-stripes and lining, plus pink checked shirt with cutaway collar, Church's brogues and Centurion's Head wraparound cufflinks. The tie is 64" in length (for all the laydeeze out there) but then I'm over 6ft and still have a soft spot for a Double Windsor (which would leave my tie about 6" long if I used a regular high street tie!)
I'd like to think this is how Ian would've dressed, had he worked for an Investment Bank. ![]()

I shall be in the bar. Think Christian Slater and Steve Brookstein. Don't expect to see either though!

That post sounds alarmingly like the opening paragraph of a chapter in American Psycho!

Hehehe I was thinking exactly the same thing. Alan Jarvis is Patrick Bateman. I'll have to do the riff from the Manics' "Patrick Bateman" tonight out of respect!

Just got back, left near the end of Re: Order's "Everything's Gone Green". Was Al Jarvis the guy with the pink sunglasses and slight bald patch whilst wearing a suit? I was there by myself, don't know, I was sober and tired, just didn't make me feel happy. Digital were ok, the guitaring was quiet for the first few songs and couldn't really hear it from the back. I think they turned it up from Disorder onwards. I remember the vocalist kept 'fighting' with the microphone. Don't know what two New Order tracks they played with the bassist on vocals, any ideas? However, I thought RE: Order were fucking awesome. New Dawn Fades pretty summed up their performance, great guitarwork and vocals. The bassist was pretty cool too, I remember when he kept messing up on Dreams Never End. And he did look like a young Hooky, which was bizarre. They played some New Order songs [about 3 I think, definitely the songs either side of NDF] I didn't recognize, I only knew DNE, EGG, Age Of Consent and Your Silent Face. Quite a good gig.

Nope, not me. I don't 'do' hair whatsoever. And pink fcuking sunglasses?! Have a word! In fact, have several.
I was the big cnut alternatively shouting JIM REI-LLY!, RE-OR-DER! and CE-RE-MO-NY! I like to think it's what Ian would've wanted.
JIM REILLY! sang on Leave Me Alone and Love Vigilantes.
Quality night, as always and good to see a great turnout from these here boards in support of the lads. Barcelona isn't gonna know what's hit it!

I must've missed those two songs or didn't recognize them. I think I missed them as I didn't see any guest singers before I left. It sucked that I had to leave during EGG though. Still a great time.
Twas a great night, many thanks to all those who came along, and to Volunteer and the Spread Eagle for the promotion.
Fighting the mic stand! Hardly surprising really, as it was electrocuting me every time I tried to sing on songs that also featured me on guitar!!! It also had one broken foot and wasn't on a level, so it was more a case of trying to keep it on the stage and in one place, rather than fighting it. We couldn't hear anything at all on stage coming from the amps - without being through the PA it was impossible to tell levels etc, we were relying on the audience to tell us if the guitar was too quiet!
For those who weren't there but take an interest in this sort of thing, the Digital set was:
Incubation (introduced as Shellshock after a particularly vicious blood-drawing shock from the mic as we were about to start playing) Shadowplay Wilderness 24 Hours Disorder A Means To An End Passover She's Lost Control Exercise One Leave Me Alone (with Jim on vocals) Love Vigilantes (Community version, with Jim on vocals) Ceremony (dedicated to Al Jarvis's birthday and Ian Curtis)
Fantastic night, shame I missed the end. Particularly enjoyed Jim Reilly and of course Re:Order were awesome , shame 'Gillian' couldn't fit on stage!
I've nearly wet myself at the thought of Al in pink sunglasses, I will buy you some for Barcelona!!! :D

Superb night, great to see everyone and top perfomances by the bands! It was good to talk to people whos knowledge of New Order extends beyond didnt they do the football song? for a change. Driving from London to Salisbury this morning with a thumping headache wasnt too much fun though, thats too much Carling for you!
Hope to see everyone at Hyde Park and if anyones going to the re: Order gig in Ashton-under-Lyme in September i`ll be there. Might be at one of the Germany gigs too, the one near Hamburg (forgotten which festivals which. Will try and post pics of the gigs soon.
Cheers Edd
Big thank yoy to Al and his mates, Ness and her other half, Don, Mr Disco and to all who came bringing your support. It was nicely packed in the Spread Eagle so it was a lot of fun to play.
Sorry Marc if you didn't know the two songs I sang.
(I'll make a note to do better next time!)
Apologies to Re Order for leaving early but thanks again for the use of your backline. Your first couple of numbers sounded blinding ![]()
