Waters, Gilmour, Wright, Mason together again for at least one show after 25 years apart!
Hell has frozen over.
Too bad New Order opted out of this show. The Who will be there as well.

exactly how old are these old codgers?
David Gilmour is 59 years old. Roger Waters is 61 years old
So they are mostly 10 years older than New Order...
What's next? Syd Barrett back? ![]()
I thought Pink Floyd never split up in the first place - they just became The Cure.....
But, fookin 'ell, that's all the world needs, more cobwebbed boring superannuated old farts coming back from the dead to liven up proceedings. Why the fuck haven't their kids all formed boy or girl bands or something? Tossers!
:dead:
Me, Pink Floyd are one of best bands that Great Britain has ever produced. Their music still sounds good today, I never get sick of listening to Dark side of the Moon, or Animals.
Lets see -
New Order Live - Barney forgetting his lyrics, Hookey fighting with the audience, Barney / Hookey and Steve making making schoolboy musician errors, Barney / Hookey behaving like a couple of uneducated philistines and lots more amateurish antics - a definte 'oh for fucks sake' factor
Pink Floyd Live - polished performances all round, no bum notes, the best lighting / film / special effects you'll ever see at a music concert amd lots of professional attitude - a definite WOW! factor
I suppose though, it depends what kind of mood you are in

Why don't you start a Slag New Order site
way to go mikey!!!![]()

Ah, I did! at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in the early 90s... can you believe Pink Floyd did 3 SOLD-OUT NIGHTS at the Olympic Stadium? That must be 200 000 tickets sold for the most shitty sound place on earth !!

Heard that news on the radio today before the DJ played Money, now that's a song that needs to be played at Live8, as an underscore about how some of the money that gets donated at these type of events doesn't always end up being useful to those who need it the most.
What, Waters and Gilmour actually had time in their busy schedules to get back onstage together? ![]()
I love PF, but from everything I've heard about their live shows I'd rather stare at my belly button for four solid hours. ![]()
Pink Floyd has been broken up since 1981!
In actuality, I don't feel like I've ever seen the real New Order in concert, as by the time I got to see them, Gillian had already left.
But, I still hold out hope that she provided the perfect female backing vocals near end of WFTSC.
How about New Order does a one off reuniting concert with the current lineup, plus Gillian!
They can donate all the profits to Iraqi children.
Whatever it takes!

Well, according to Andy Robinson, Bernard Sumner AND Peter Hook, it's Dawn Zee...
Sorry to blow your balloon there!
Love the Floyd - grew up with my older brother's record collection - Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall - awesome albums. Yes, their bad moments are truly awful prog rock at its worst, but their best is right up there.
OK, off-topic and a bit cynical, but which part of the following headline is going to generate the most "awareness":
PINK FLOYD REUNITE For Live 8 Concert To Pressure G8 Nations To Address African Poverty
I mean, I'm certainly aware now that Waters and Gilmour are playing together again...which is great. But talk about upstaging.

How dare you attack New Order in such a vindictive way. As everyone well knows: New Order have only ever played one bum note live. And that was Jetstream!!!![]()
Theyr'e all coming out of the closet on this thread.
I'm taking names, notes, and addresses - and you'll all be shopped in to the prog police.

I apologise but I absolutely adore Floyd.
There I'sve said it now. Oh and I like music by the Cult up until Love Removal Machine. Oh and I like early Ultravox! too.
Now I'm shamed I shall be quiet again![]()
Gnu, I envoked that 10 posts ago mate :)
Ffloyd are great, but they are TOO good. their gigs just sound like the Album turned up loud. The only reason to go see them is the stageshow, which has nothing to do with music. That's one of the things that turned me in the foaming fundamentalist NO-fan I am now, the fact that their gigs sold on the strength of 2 blue light, 2 red lights and their music. Flloyd, to get to THAT level of musicianship, must have no lives, you cannot play 16 hours a day and have a life. I'd much rather have gone to see flloyd when it was in a dark underground pub and they were off their faces on enough acid to put an elephant on a translunar trajectory, and played interstellar overdrive for 7 hours (longest IO jam I was ever invloved in was under two hours, we were liteweights.). in short when they were more like NO.
As for No ballsing up every 2 mins...it's called being human, and making mistakes, and being honest and admitting them. I'm gonna stop there on that tack because, I can't really dfend it in light of their current incarnation.
Incidentally, i musta been far more off my nut than I though these last coupla decades....I've seen and heard plenty of floyd.
