I thought it was goofball thing to do but not a horrible mis-step. It was fun to see WIM performed, was the crowd into it? sounded like it on the webcast ~eng-gah-LEND

Bono, surely? Look at the way he ponces around the stage with an oversized flag. No one would do that unless they were taking the piss out of themselves. Would they? Erm... would they?
I think the Allen + horse moment was dead funny and I guess Coldplay haven't topped that.
It'll be the moment of this Glasto people will remember, and New Order did it!

Fell asleep about 1 after skipping through the interactive screens a few more times and chucking the remote at the tv...

To put it politely, I was fucking disgusted at the time! Bad enough playing that song, but along with a Pantomime horse ridden by Keef Allen in a Matador costume.
I agree with Tim. Crap but Funny.
Joe Mott in the Star who has been praising The Order and the album, wasnae impressed and buggered off to watch Kasabian, the Hyde Park gig also got slated by Carl Stroud in the same paper, new order were woeful and he said the amount of fans that turned up was pitiful, or words to that effect, I was down the front getting murdered at the time so I didnae see how many people were there, but according to my missus who stayed at the back, she said there were fookin loads of people, cos the big screen kept panning the crowd.
I for one am still glad I went Hyde Park and not Glasnost

Fans forgot all about the miserable weather when this legendary band hit the stage. For the first time in years they sang their brilliant 1990 Number 1 World In Motion, bringing out the Glastonbury spirit in the crowd. 8/10
I thought it was typical of the crazy stuff they do and everyone dislikes at the time and then we all look back fondly on it in a few years as inspired. Good fun.
Loved Bernard chuckling into the mic when it came on, it was worth it just for that.
I guess we can now forever regard Keith Allen as the unflushable turd (greet title fer a U2 album that, like!) that always pops up whenever New Order are in the area! 
God, what a shambolic set... I think they may have played about 4 minutes decently out of the entire hour....
It was embarrassing. I told everyone I know here in the US to watch it cause it was free online....
What a joke. Anyone with any objectivity will admit it was a horrible performance. I know the insane fans who cannot admit new order EVER play poorly, and folks who were at the show investing in hours of mud, will not be able to admit it, but get serious. This was a sad day for new order.
I suppose after this, will be all the posts about how endearing and better new order are when they suck, and why this makes new order the best rock band ever, because they are so unpredictable. Like Joy Division, they have angelic highs but hellish lows.
Well, just as we love them for their high moments, we can only be fair and despise them for their lows.
I think Hook, who I love, missed more notes than hit em on the first three songs. Every time I thought maybe they were getting a footing, they would blow it somehow.
Which was really sad, because I was psyched they had Dawn Z there... she was the only one onstage with any talent that night. Surely not Ana... how did she get a singing gig???
This shambolic gig, and the downward trend lately, is just a sign to move along, seek spectacle from other sources for the immediate future. Aj Wells was right on so many levels. And wrong too. BOTTOM LINE: What really is there to chat about new order in the next few months? They are tired and are about to take time off themselves and prep the next lp, maybe. They made their money for 2005 and will not be making much news until 2006....
Anyway, this is my last post for awhile. Off to summer things and life and other bands. I am sure you are all crying the predicted tears of deepest pain at this news!

lol another drama queen. anyways on to the matter at hand,if i had a penny for everytime new order made a twat of themselves id be quids in. this is just another example of their (ahem)bizzre humor,anyone remember the tbthog video?,& wim video???,and was they THAT BAD at hyde or glasto? i thought they was quite good tbh and barney didnt seem to be looking sideways constantly for the autocue which im sure is another wind up as well.
How did the general reaction seem to those who were at Glatonbury? BBC'c patchy coverage more or less ruined any semblance of a balanced view of things. Saw Transmission 3 times WIM twice and still haven't seen Regret BLT or WFTSC. Transmission seemed to go well. TF sucked as per usual. Crystal and Krafty came over quite well. Jetsream and Run Wild why?
On a seperate note I was mightily impressed by Primal Scream. Started off only half watching and was drawn in by Gillespie's antics. By the time they got around to Swastika Eyes, I was loving it.

Shug, do you realise what you are posting? You've agreed with the reviewers comments and finally admitted you are English? 
I thought they sounded great and for once barney was in fine voice apart from BLT which sounded a bit ropey.
I can't believe I was moaning about the small stream outside my tent on friday morning when i saw the underwater ones at the bottom of the field

don't worry it's not worth itSo sorry you are leaving us Senor Tarbox, I almost agreed with you on one thread a couple of months ago. Anyway, Glasto was one of the better ones in terms of performance - maybe the standards by which we gauge them have slipped like waistlines and hairlines, I know I was horrified when I ended my 12 year exodus to experience such crap shows after several years of.....crap shows with different setlists and smaller venues, but Glasto wasn't that bad at all. Far better performance than Hyde Park, that's for sure!
Great to see Dawn Zee there in person -- great voice, great look! I like her! The only problem is that she's a REAL singer and often burries Barney's voice. Sometimes Bernard will force his voice to make it louder in order to keep up with Dawn, and that makes him sing completely off-key every time. 
One question: anyone know why the band cut the electro bassline on Krafty ???? It was replaced with Hooky playing his bass over all the tune, as if the song came from Brotherhood. Not bad, but I prefer with the sequenced line on...

Interestingly enough, I seem to remember Tarby really loved the New York gig. Which I'd probably have down as my worst gig of those I've attended this year. I mean Coachella was bad, but that wasn't New Order's audience, New York supposedly was yet got a similar reaction from the majority of the crowd. Like everyone just wanted to be elsewhere, or were perhaps waiting for another band?

You had to feel a bit sorry for her when she was singing the correct words and nicely in tune while Barney was shouting something completely different
