I noticed the last song on disc 2 of Substance, 1963, has an annoying 'buzz' that starts around the 4 minute mark and goes for the duration of the song.
Is this on everyones disc?

Nah mate, mine does it as well, and i know it is not a scratch on the disk! It may be a problem with the Australian Pressing or a particular pressing! If you find out the answer i would love to know!

I thought maybe the buzzing noise may be due to fitting too much on the CD?
Remember how it was said here in these forums that when Substance came out on CD they were having problems, that's why True Faith sounds a bit distorted?
Don't get me wrong, you can still listen to 1963, but that damn noise at he 4min+ mark hampers it.
Anyone else have this or can shed some light?

I should be tracking down a vinyl pressing of substance 87 soon and i will check out the quality of 1963 on that! But the compression for the CD could cause the abberation i hear when we listen to 1963. If any other Aussies have this CD and it is stuffing up then please drop us a message here

1963 isn't on the vinyl version of Substance, You only get the A sides. I've only just got the C.D. version with some B sides I'd not heard before.

True faith on substance sounds horrible. It sounds like they recorded it from behind a wall.
Both 1963 and true Faith on my copy of Substance are prone to fucking up, and doing that irritating repeat thing where it goes ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner ner etc. This doesnt happen on any other CD I've got as yet.
Pain in the arse, think it may be right that too much was chucked on the CDs.
I've never had a problem with this on my player...but remember...my CD player is an old 1987 model, which probably has its own limitations...
Anyone got the double cassette version which came out originally too - in the white Factory box? The second tape of B-sides contains FOUR extra tracks - sixteen in total - adding Mesh, Bizarre Dub Traingle, Shellcock and DubVulture, and due to its sheer length, sometimes the tape in the cassette goes stiff and cannot play properly or rewind/fast-forward. This was a common problem with these extended "double-play"cassettes you used to get so often in the 80s. Who else has a copy that does this?

Yip - I've got it although it's me Uncle John's - but it's exactly the same as yours - doesn't rewind or fastforward;)

Ive got that too... first NO album i ever owned...
Mine sticks all the time, but i generally only listen to that in the car and assumed it was my dodgy car stereo.... nice to know its not, even though its a pain in the arse.....

Now that is bloody weird!! Everyone else's copy of the same B-side tape also sticking!!! Perhaps this is some postmodern joke on behalf of Factory records?? Most intriguing......
