These types of posts typically annoy the hell out of me so let me be the first to tell me to fuck off. Now, on with the post!

I was listening to Revenge yesterday (not on purpose) and Soul came on. At first i thought i had mislabelled an Electronic B-Side but then Hooky started singing and i had to check the info to be sure i was hearing straight. This song sounds like Hooks reaction to Sumner pairing with Marr. It would be a superb track if the boys would rerecord it with Bernard singing Hooky's lyrics. The guitar, the synth melodies and the vocal melody all sound like a lost classic. I know it will never happen but if Ringo Starr can play Beatles songs he didn't write, then New order can play Revenge tracks. Plus Hook'd get double credits right? Who else thinks this track is great and should we mail in postcards requesting they drop the JD tunes and start playing sideproject stuff instead?

Not on purpose, Brian?:skeptic:

Yeah, I always kind of liked ‘Soul’, but listening to it now it sounds a bit like ‘Dracula’s Castle’ to me.

I don’t fancy the chances of any live versions of the side project stuff, but it’s a nice dream nonetheless. CTB :bear:

I put off listening to Revenge until Be Careful What You Wish For came out. I had Slave and Pineapple Face on vinyl but that was all heard. Hooky was onto something, though. The Revenge stuff is surprisingly good. If only they had made a follow up to Technique in 90/91. It woulda/coulda been their best ever.

It would be interesting to play some side projects live all together BUT i really want New Order to stay all together without any problem also. Anyway we have to wait for the Free Bass things also...

Would be nice, but no chance of them playing side project stuff.

And ask them to 'drop' joy div stuff instead - distilled, pure, concentrated essence of insanity IMHO.

I love Revenge, and I really love their live album. I think they should drop the joy division tunes and play side project tunes instead. I mean, couldn't they just think of it as a cover? All those great songs, and all the possible things they could do with. And there just sitting there. And they have Phil, he could pull off the johnny marr parts and everything. Ah, what a dream. Ok, back to Revenge. Love Soul, its a killer track, I also loved the opening few tracks on One true passion version 2.0. :music:
