Unbelievable...crap like Jetstream which even before its single release was reviewed by most as a weak/shite track.. is released on cd in umpteen formats/remixes/downloads ...no one buys it.. .then the best track on the album(just shades Turn in my eyes)is only going to be released(at the mo)on 7" singles?!when this should have been made available in all formats ..esp. cd!!..to appeal/available to the masses!....What the hell are they going to release Turn on ..cassette single!!!Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.....![]()

Great...I can put it beside my "Pictures" and "Devistatin' Dave" albums as stuff that you can only listen to on vinyl. Pfft.
Like the idea of the slipcase for the 7's, but why put out cd promos if theres not going to be any cds?![]()

Probably really remixed by the 'great' Rick Astley :)
so this is the famous sleeve that was supposed to be the album one, right? the tsunami persuaded them not to release it (and finally seeing this pic makes me wonder why) and right now tragedies including water are all over the world. so maybe they´ll change again? guess not
I think it's WRONG if Warner Bros. does not release WFTSC in the US as a CD Single with all the remixes. I will be so angry if I have to track down a fu**ing slipcase on Ebay for 58 quid with the exchange rate the way it is.
And although I am in the minority here, why is 'Turn' so damn great. The breakout track on this album is 'Guilt Is Such A Useless Emotion' - I heard there was gonna be a remix of it, when's THAT one coming out?
Also, can someone PLEASE answer this for me: IS that 'Tribute Mix' of WFTSC ever coming out officially or will I have to try to get one on Ebay for a 100 dollars (like who the hell has all this money anyway?)
Thanks, great forum here. Best band in the world.

it's very 'o brother, where art thou' IMO.
There are boobs and a butt crack there. Not sure how that fits with the single, unless it's called "Waiting For The High Beams To Dim".
The first sleeve is great, the second 2 look like a ten year old has applied a basic watercolour filter - lazy!
Obviously, I love this artwork and I find it quite sad that it didn't make it as the actual album sleeve.
And to do my sexist remark of the day (people who know me know it's not my type at all)... let's just wait they keep the same concept for... TURN ![]()
(If you don't get it, you probably got lost in translation)
I quite like the idea of the 7" only single, yes its going to marketing that little bit harder but oh well i'm sure warners know what they're doing![]()
still it'll find a nice place in my vinyl collection with my other 7" records
LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY LOVELY cover... ![]()
7" singles? ![]()
THEY ARE F*CKING BONKERS........
:rip:
They still haven't worked it out have they?
Is Wilson back on board? ![]()

that's what i always imagined the sirens would look like, as they were known to drown sailors because of their ability to distract them from their seafaring!

Think "Siren" in the mythological sense.

Will you be adding these 7" to your personal Retro vinyl to cd compendium Andy? If so put me down for a copy.
I would've thought so, yes. Got hold of a few more rare vinyl bits 'n' bobs in the last year or two that I've yet to digitize and master on to CD. Will be doing a batch later in the year - including these mixes if they don't come out on some sort of CD promo.
Surely they'll be out on one of the download platforms too??
Andy
this is a very peter saville sleeve - have a look at his other work in designed for similar examples

Can it chart on just 7" single???
Yep. As long as there's no more than three formats, it's allowed. Doesn't matter what three. If it's only out on 7"s, that should lower its sales though, for the reasons stated on this forum. I reckon there will be downloads available on iTunes, etc., and they now count towards placings in the UK singles chart too.
Can't see this denting the charts though - another Run 2, methinks.

It will bomb in the chart exactly for that.. even with digital downloads, people outside Europe can't buy it because iTunes doesn't accept north american credit cards when you try to create an account.
But I'm sure they are reading us and see our reaction... maybe they think that the 3rd single is for the fan base only, the fan base WILL buy it and that makes sure it's 3 copies each one, hence help it to chart, and they will release the CD later and try to chart with the CD as well.. who knows!
I'm puzzled now!

Well, the part of the fan base consisting of me will definitely NOT be buying vinyl.
message for the record company: YOU SUCK! (just in case no other person has said it in this thread yet, and just in case the F-ing record company is reading this)
Phenomenal New Order song that has all of us New Order lovers and 'every-version' purchasers sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for remixes, and they imply it will be limited to 7" vinyl?
for christ's sake, we endured 900 versions of Jetstream, and we even purchased them, just waiting for this moment, and most of us wont be able to PLAY it?
If this holds forth, if the remixes are not made available on cd to me here in the states, I will be finished with this band until they change labels....and Ive been with this band heart and soul since 1983. Screw it. whatever thier agenda is, it will be without me.
