It's definitively THE great idea of the year. WFTSC is the only best track of this album. And they decide to make a piece of art with these 3 collectors. Great... Even if you don't have a good turntable, buy these and put them under a beautifful glas to hang them in your living room... Top of the top!

you can buy a turntable at a pawn shop for 25$ its worth it,there is a lot of tracks ( b-sides ,rmx ...)you can only find on vinyl. ...and its like...collectors...
There hasn't been a Japanese single since Crystal. This is the perfect opportunity for them to put out an exclusive compilation EP of New Order's recent single releases.

You have to find an amplifier that actually supports the connection for a turntable.

Although maybe more recent turntables have RCA connectors only... don't know 
I'll wait for the mp3s, more convivial... if I do get the 3x7", there is no way I'm going to play them, they will remain MINT :D

this is what i've been thinking, no online shops have updated anything.
I was a little bored inbetween shifts from work yesterday and was on HMV website and it claimed Waiting for the sirens call had been released over here yesterday so i placed my order and today it's on 'special order from our suppliers' so guess i won't be getting that then.

Even for collectors, a 2x12" like they did for Someone Like You would have been more appriopriate IMHO.
7"... do they have small holes or the big ones that needs an adapter? I'm not even sure I can actually FIND that adapter anymore

Nope, only the jukebox records needed an adapter - same small holes for 7"'s as 12"'s! :)
The 7" single, btw, seems to be having quite a resurgence here in the UK... Also, it's quite appropriate for a compilation album called 'Singles' to have 7" singles preceding it 
I'd still prefer a CD single, though... 
I think the 7 inches are kool but obviously they do not have the DJs in mind.
12" are much better for play than a 7 inch because the groove spacing is different on a 12".

Don't get me wrong Nick, it's a nice idea to release the 3x7"... it's a very bad idea not to release a CD....
I feel they will release a CD later, so they don't care about the charting at all.. anyways, it's not like the song will chart that much, nobody reported that he heard it on the radio yet...
Maybe they will release WFTSC/Turn CD just like the US did with Jetstream/Krafty

The BLUE MONDAY track is the first time on CD - originally made as a 7" for US radio stations promo only - due to the length of the 12" I assure you my information is correct. There is also another NO album due in 2006.

If true (don't really have a reason to doubt it, you do work at Sarm West since your email is sarm.co.uk)
What seems fishy is the track listing... I can't see a reason why New Order would suddenly release the Blue Monday 7" (well, it should be on Singles, isn't it?) and not include the other mixes that should be on the 7"...
If so, I'm puzzled.. the problem is the project manager at Warner/London said to me their would MAYBE be a CD, they haven't decided yet... so I don't know who to believe.
BTW, it's at your studio that Razormaid did the Sarm West mix of Subculture?

None of the published tracklistings for any Radio 1 show over the weekend show WFTSC to have been played.

Now you're really stirring up a hornets' nest.
The existence - or otherwise - of such a radio edit 7" has had many wise men scratching their asses for decades. I don't suppose you can provide any further release info about this? If it's in any way true, surely it suggests that some of the London suits have been casting a lazy eye over NOOL? We were only debating it again recently.
Unless of course it's actually the Japanese or Polish 7" promo edit.

I just got a confirmation by London Records:
We are releasing a 2 track CD on Sirens, we are seeing if we can make it for the 26th but it might have to be the 3rd Oct as the 7" need to take priority for release week - the tracks will be the rich costey and jacknife lee

Better late than never, but what a botched process.
Think of it this way, maybe they actually expect to chart with the 3x7".. if everybody from the UK fanbase buy them, it's 3 items for the count...
Although I fail to believe that a 7" would chart these days...
