One of the Peelster's fave songs; his widow has honoured NO with this... shame they didn't get his fave thou'; teenage kicks; be interesting to see who gets top prize in covering that...
The news on the front page of this site needs to be changed then, I logged on and read that it was a cover of The Undertones' Ever Fallen In Love? ![]()
Great song,** best guitarist ever, some bassist bloke...
I. Can't. Wait.
** Or is this not the same as the Buzzcocks one? ![]()
EDIT: The BBC site says Buzzcocks, not Undertones.
'Ever Fallen In Love? (With Someone You Shouldn't Have) is a Buzzcocks song. A Manchester song. It's actually FAR better than the Undertones' 'Teenage Kicks'...
Perhaps it's a case of getting bands/individuals from the relevant cities to do the covers...?
Let's see what happens... :)
Jeff Beck's biggest problem for the last 40 years has been that he's a great guitarist who needs a great song to really shine. Now he's got one. Plus some bassist bloke to cover, hmmm, mid-range? This will be interesting.
Oh,I'll be buying this album and the tribute single. The album will span the working career of Peely, featuring the likes of Pink Floyd through The Smiths,JD,New Order right up to later years with Pulp. He was the quintessential music lover right up to the end,and a loveable guy.
Nah, you're all wrong - it's a Fine Young Cannibals song :light:
(JOKE, I realise it was done by the Buzzcocks first; before any flaming occurs).

I did cut and paste straight from the BBC page... I guess they changed it?
A nice gesture, but isn't 'Teenage Kicks' one of the funnies songs ever sung.
Listen to Shergal Fargley (or Fergal Sharkley). He sounds like a sheep '...it's the best I've ever haaad.'
Church of the KLF wrote: Isn't it the name of a Chris Isaak song, too?
Actually, I think you may be referring to "Wicked Game" which has the line "and IIIII don't want to fall in love, no IIIII don't want to fall in love, with you"...which by bizarre coincidence was a song played on Juke Box Jury when Bernard was one of the judges....he quite liked the song too, but I don't think was impressed by Chris Isaak's satorial sense when he came out on the Juke Box Jury set.
Teenage Kick is boring. Ever Fallen in Love is great - and a classic.
ps: how come "church of the klf" knows the discography of chris isaac? lol

No it's not. It is a great song, no doubt about that, but Teenage Kicks just blows it away.
