I have finally seen the video for WFTSC and it being my favorite song off the new album , i was extremely disappointed. I realize their videos haven't always been the most entertaining, but i think they deserve airtime on VH1 or MTV and w/ this video it's not gonna happen. Just my opinion![]()
Which NO video disappointed you most?

Name them...
Confusion, State of the Nation, Shellshock....
But anyways, we don't like New Order for their videos... isn't it?
Often their videos are beautifully shot but only have a vague story idea. WFTSC is a prime example. Regret and Run are my favorites; Shellshock and State of the Nation fittingly have relatively subpar videos.

Don't worry, I'm not offended ;)
I actually like the video for WFTSC, but I was hoping for something that was at least nearly as good as the song.

You didn't have to change your avatar for me. Its not like I puke every time I see it.
well, since the band do not really get involved with most of the projects, and are rather different from most "rock stars" in attitude... it leads to videos that are very disconnected from the music and the band's personality
to pick one ... "Fine Time"... WTF?!?! what does that video have to do with the mood of the song or Ibiza or acid house or Manchester or the band or anything? maybe christmas?

I felt like changing it for a still of the new Ceremony video ;)
God, where do we begin? Loathe Krafty, 60mph, Fine Time and Spooky.
And I've never understood the fuss over Round & Round. Easy on the eye, but boring as fcuk.
Most of their videos are almost unwatchable. Having said that, I did just pre-order "Item".
Such is the life of a New Order fanatic. ![]()
I always thought 'Round & Round' was crap so I thought, "Ah, I'll watch the USA/Patty version" and guess what - IT'S EVEN WORSE!!!
Is that Kate Beckinsale on that video? About an hour before I bought Item last night, I was watching 'Much Ado About Nothing' in my Humanities class and the movie has Kate Beckinsale in it and I was like, isn't that chick from the 'Round & Round' video?
It's the first chick in the video.
Help a brother out!! :)
I once saw a video for '83 Blue Monday (not sure if it was official) which looked like footage of an old arcade game. That was pretty crap, but I supposed if they put more effort into making videos maybe the music wouldn't be as good.
I don't think New Order really has any good video, REALLY.
True Faith is great, but if you remove the live footage, it's a video not related to the song at all like all others. The Republic videos were great (minus Spooky), and they do feature the band.
Include live footage in all the new videos and I'm not sure anybody would say anything.
I watched Jetstream on the DVD yesterday, it's not a bad video at all, and at least it does feature the band.

The Perfect Kiss is magnificent. Simple, professional production that captures the essence of a band at the top of their game.

Well, I didn't think of them all.
Yes it's nice. And according to Michael Shamburg, it was indeed shown in theatres... so the movie poster is genuine ;)
Spooky is simply unwatchable, 1963 was a video dud that I had never seen until this week. I hadn't missed much there.
However, The Perfect Kiss, Bizarre Love Triangle, and World are terrific videos. The new Ceremony had some interesting imagery as well. Crystal is cool too with the fake band.
I can't say I'm ever really disappointed with their videos, as I never expect a whole lot to start with - it's just a marketing tool that is sometimes artful, sometimes awful.
I have a great deal of time for the clip to 'Regret' though - all those lovely tracking shots of the various members doing their bits (individually) in a lobby somewhere are top, as is the montage of Barney stuffing up miming the "Look at me, I'm not you" line. The TPK, BLT and TBTHOG clips are pretty damn good too - but obviously for differing reasons!

Come on Jean-Philippe, you just don't get mullets like that anymore.
Anyone seen CTB lately?

It's gotta be:
- Shellshock (perfect match - I loath the song as well)
- State Of The Nation (an aimless waste of film)
- Waiting For The Siren's Call (a real dissappointment!! It's not up to a really great song)
- Jetstream (just a boring MTV cliche)
Best videos: True Faith, Confusion, World In Motion, BLT, Regret, Spooky, Crystal, 60 MPH.
Bernard Sumner in the 316 interview said they always see videos not as promos but art statements, something intersting, really inspiring. Can you say so about the aforesaid? :( I'd love to back up Bernard's words but apart from True Faith, "World" and Round & Round there's not much to call an art statement.

Well, you're right. Good sample of history for the younger generations...
Fine time video is creepy. It almost ruins a song i very much enjoy.
Perfect Kiss is brillant. It captures NO at its barest essential. Its what you would expect from Jonathan Demme. He did after all make one of the greatest rocknroll movies ever, "stop making sense" talking heads.
