I finally managed to scan all my Galaxy photos. Taken as one very excited 17 year old. I was keen to get the snaps but remember stopping to put the camera down and suck it all up – especially when YSF began. I didn’t want to miss a minute.

In a number of them if you look carefully to the right of Hooky, you can see Rob Gretton.

Some photos are overexposed because I had problems with the camera during the gig and had to open up the back cover to replace the film. They are not in any particular order.

During Confusion when Barney was playing bass, he had the guitar pick between his teeth and spat it out on the floor behind his monitor.

At the end of the gig following the encore and everyone had largely buggered off, the roadies started clearing the stage. One of them ripped the set list off Barneys monitor, screwed it up and threw it off the stage. My mate scored it and gave it to me. I took the opportunity at this time to a jump on the stage and score the guitar pick Barney had spat out earlier. One of the roadies saw me and thought I was pinching something important. I showed him the pick and he was cool.

So I walked away with some great memories of my 2nd New Order gig. Along with a roll of film, a bootleg, the set list and Barneys guitar pick – one very happy chappy.

Set list and guitar pick included at the end of the scanned images.

The photo quality is not great because Yahoo Photos seems to have halved the resolution of the scans I uploaded. Click on the thumbnail to enlarge or use the slide-show option if you prefer.

Have a couple of other bits of paraphernalia (short letter from Hooky & Factory) I will scan if there is any interest.

Hope you enjoy the pics…

Excellent! Let's hope they have one more NZ gig in them as i'm hoping to plant my roots there this time next year (Palmy North).

If it ever did happen i'm sure it'd be Auckland or Wellington; no need for gas masks there!

Although... R.E.M. did New Plymouth last year...

Amazing! Love the handwritten set list.

How he dare wear shorts like that I will never understand - but they are very entertaining.

Rotorua has the geothermal smell of sulphur. Don't you like the smell of your own farts?

I used to holiday there as a kid in my parents bach. You do get used to the smell - I think it rots your brains. :skeptic:

Believe it or not, those shorts were common back then. You also need to remeber it was summer time in Feb and pretty damn humid and hot - check Barney's sunburn :smoking:

I think the ladies are more interested in things visible other than the sunburn!

Can anybody explain to me why Bernard Sumner performed in his underwear in the 86-87 era? :confused2:

As far as I can recall, yes. I do remeber her standing in front of me playing guitar quite a bit.

I love those shorts that Barney was wearing in those pictures!!! It kind of reminds me of the video for "Confusion".
