Worst NO single

My Get Ready poll was kinda fun, so it's time for a new poll. What is the worst NO single? List your top 5 choices, from worst to 5th worst. Only entries with 5 titles will be counted. Number 1 on each list will get 5 points, Number 2 will get 4, etc. I'll tally everything up in a few days or so. This could be interesting. Only songs that were released as singles count, naturally. And only the single version of a song should be considered. No 12" or album version.

2. Shellshock
3. State of the Nation
4. Ruined in a Day (good song, but not a single)
5. 60 MPH

Personally, I don't think they have released 5 crap singles. They have done some average ones but its difficult to choose 5 'worst' ones. Spooky or 60mph are probably the most average of the lot but still retain a certain charm.

Some of the singles were only released on 12" initially - BM, Thieves and Confusion spring to mind.

I didn't say 5 crap singles. I said 5 worst. That means which ones were the least appealing. This doesn't mean they have no appeal at all. I think we can learn something about the band, their music, and their choices from this.

I just hope they play World in Motion before this Aussie tour is over, 'cos I'll be down the front waving the George Cross!!!!!! An encore at the final gig in Perth will suffice. My five are:

1. Shellshock
2. Sub-Culture
3. State of the Nation
4. Blue Monday (overplayed/over released for the masses)
5. True Faith (1963 should have been the A-side)

1. Theives Like Us
2. Ruined In A Day (The remixes sucked...)
3. Murder
4. 60 Miles An Hour
5. Run Wild (if they actually ARE making it a single). If not, I guess Fine Time...

Man I wished they had of played World in Motion too, I'm sure when they play it in England they get a HUGE response:

Reasons:

1. Utter shite vocals, atrocious remix.
2. Drags on too long, dodgy lyrics.
3. 'nuff said
4. Cheese overload
5. Lyrics are so bad its not even funny.

Its interesting how Thieves is getting such a bad press - I think its one of their finest moments.

I agree.

Far too many people are putting shellshock in their lists.... what's wrong with it? The 12" version is great. Just love the backing vocals: "All i get from you is sha-shaaaa"

I agree with that, too. "It's never enough until your heart stops beating" is one of my favorite NO lines.
