the Armand Van Helton Remix of BLT.... he must hate the song or was really stoned and bored, really uninspired
the Sly and Robbie remixes sound interesting in theory, but I don't think that they had any clue what to so with it
I think in recent years they have tried to avoid remixers who are not all that interested except to pick up a paycheck... but it is sort of hit and miss
Oh, yes Blue Eyed Boy...how could we forget the Scumfrog dub of HTS. That one was bloody awful!! Even *Sarah effin McLachlan* has some decent remixes of her songs...DJ Tiesto, William Orbit, BT, Rabbit In the Moon, Hybrid...oh nevermind.

This blue-eyed boy that wants to be wrote: Shame of the Nation is pretty dire, as well as John Robbie's version of Subculture. The Digweed and Muir remix of Crystal (known as the Club version) is really awful - strips away everything but the vocals. Also, the scumfrog dub remix of Here to Stay just butchers the song. Why do so many people do awful NO remixes? I heard most of the remixes on the Depeche Mode remix CD and almost all were good. It's not saying that DM is a better band or that their songs are earlier to remix, but why can so few people remix NO well?
There's a good quota of very good remixes on the Depeche Mode remix album (Goldfrapp, Tenaglia, Flood, Air etc), but some real stinkers. Up there with some of New Order's.
Overall, Depeche Mode (or rather some Mute A&R), are much more imaginative with their choice of remixers. Maybe they have more cash to spare.

Dude, the worst remix is 60 MPH (Supermen Lovers Mix) - I can't believe nobody nominted it.
Leave the Jam & Spoon remixes alone. They are excellent. Not every remix can sound like Hardfloor's take on BM. You'd have 10 remixes that followed the original structure of the song. Jam & Spoon's Manuela Mix is brilliant and the Andrea Mix sound like The Police. Just great.
Yes, the Armand van Helden mix sucks. Thank goodness everyone hates him. His only credit is the Tori Amos remix he did.
The Lionrock mixes of 1963 should have been better but they weren't, I'll agree there. That was before he did a 180 and started making trip-hop. However, the Joe T. Vanelli remixes were great, imo. They kept the lyrics and it went in a good direction.
And how can you diss the Bedrock remix of Crystal? That was John Digweed & Nick Muir on the TOP of their game when Bedrock Records was seriously doing the busines in the club scene. They still are...
It seems like the people who hate the remixes last went out to a club in 1989 and can't get a hold on what the art of the remix has morphed into in the past 15 years. Of course, some remixes don't work but some of these artists really put their style into the song and pull it off well. Just to have some New Order purist go out and piss on it, it just makes me think, "well, I hope your happy with all the rock and roll music the band has put out as of late"
New Order needs to rent a synth and use it on their next LP. They've gone up their own ass with this rock crap. ENOUGH ALREADY!
That bastard Armand will have my eternal worst wishes for releasing a piece of sh*t like that with the names "New Order" and "Bizarre Love Triangle" on it. No forgiveness to him, oh never!

Barney & the boys must have really digged "Starlight" as it sounds quite similar to the start of Morning Night & Day!

I agree with all sentiments above. altho, as i get older, i cannot go to clubs as much. still those who haven't been lately, do not realize how much the landscape of music has changed in the club world. Bedrock has long been the leader of progressive house and beyond. Their sound is extraordinary.
But there are still more remixers out there that should give New Order a try - Fila Brazilla, Zero 7, Cut Chemist/DJ Shadow, Nathan Fake, Kruder & Dorfmeister. I would love to hear any of these incorporate their styles into a New Order track.
