Hi! Does anyone know what kind of equipment New Order has? I´m especially interested in what kind of bass Peter Hook uses.

Hooky's basses are Chriss Eccleshall custom hollowbody, mainly for live use, a Yamaha BB1200 for studio and a six string which I can't remember at the moment but I'm sure several others will let you know.
There's an interview with him in the october issue of guitar and bass mag which has a good (but old) pic of him in what I presume is NO rehearsal room with a collection of basses.
Hope that helps.
As listed in Bass Player May 2005;
Eccleshall Hollowbody 4-string(I think he had 2 of these made).
Yamaha BB1200s(has 2; mostly studio use, but has been used live as well).
Shergold Marathon 6-string(has owned more than one).
Hondo II Rickenbacker copy(his old JD 4-string; has said it was a complete pile of shite along with the original JD bass rig).
Gibson EB-2
Gibson EB-0
Overwater C Bass & Guild Starfire(bought at the John
Entwistle-deceased Who bassist's- instrument auction.
The Gibson Thunderbird bass Hooky tried to get finally
went for 57,000 pounds!!).
The article also goes into detail about his bass rig and string gauges as well. I'll leave it to someone else onsite to post about keyboard/guitar/drum setups for the rest of NO.
To get the genuine Hooky sound, you'll need to track down one of these:
...although many combo bass FX units can provide a similar overall effect with a little fiddling with chorus and EQ.

I think this year David Sultan delivered Hooky's third Eccleshall bass to him - HOT 3.
As for the Shergolds, I think he has/had 2 black ones, a red one and a white one (with Revenge at least)
Has he not been seen playing with a Thunderbird too (on TOTP I seem to recall)?

and a decent noise gate as these things really do hiss and hum, but you'd expect that from something that was built in the 70's. Both of mine are monsters..Have been experimenting with combo effect units with some good results.

Isn't that just one that TOTP keep in stock so bands don't need to lug all their instruments about which they aren't going to play?
i just found this line 6 & barney, don't know whether barney has actualy used this live, the pic looks like it could be a sound check, but interesting.
I'm thinking of getting an bass pod xt pro live, anyboddy any thoughts on that peice of kit.

That's what I was thinking re. that Thunderbird bass. I saw that pic of Barney on the same night I did the Google search on Hooky. Just goes to show that barney CAN play and that this could be the guitar he did the acoustic part of Run Wild on.

Great pic, I honestly never thought I'd see a photo of Barn with an acoustic, let alone on stage with one!
As for the Bass POD Pro, a mate swears by his. I've yet to hear it in action, but he's particularly fond of the plexi amp sound.

Got the answer on Turn!!!!! Bernard just re-tuned his SG, no semitones down or anything. Recording up very soon.
I thought that would be the case - his voice couldn't carry it if it was in Em. Thanks for the info; may the guitar Gods shine brightly on you today, Timbers!
Comiserations for missing AllyPally too
