Old Monkey brought this up in a thread earlier today.
How long before Phil stops being new? He's been in the band longer than Ian was!
Now if Gillian can relieve him of keyboard duties Phil can concentrate on guitar while Barney works out his new dance moves and autocue checking.

I've nothing against Phil, but I can't see what he really adds to NO... sorry if that sounds ignorant, but thats the way I feel; I guess it would help his integration if he was allowed to step up when they receive awards and was included in all of the band's publicity / interviews: If he contributed to the writing of WFTSC then he should be brought into the fold properly!
I can understand him hanging back - there would be backlahs if he stepped in and tried to take credit for everything - I like his quiet approach. He may get lost in his playing sometimes but hes a musician and that is his passion - I like to see bands enjoying themselves. He hasnt done anything wrong at all 0 just because we love Gillian doesnt mean we should pay out Phil. Hes done well in a very tricky situation where oithers would have stuffed up royal. Kudos, I say.
Keep Phil and return Gillian. Keys and guitars would be covered perfectly. Bernard could focus on singing, talking to the sound guy and dancing.
At Lavery's last night, I kept shouting 'Phil Cunningham' to Hooky, but he never acknowledged it.
