don't know how many of you are familiar with metacritic which basically rounds up every on line review & gives an average score?
Well all this talk of reviews of Sngles etc led me to see what the average score was for it.
Of course, it's not actually listed under New Order.... But they do have Get Ready & WFTSC & all the reviews there are linked.
I was quite surprised by the scores, IMO they are the other way round, but there you go...
The reviews are mainly drawn from the US so perhaps the rockier sound of GR tips the balance here.
There was also a kind of collective relief and delight in the media when they returned in '01 which might have bumped some GR reviews. That effect had worn off by the time Sirens' promos hit the players.
Still, there was no need for 1 reviewer to suggest 'it sucks mongo ass'. I have no idea what this phrase means but have started using it already.
GR has the edge for me. Remove Slow Jam, Someone like you and Close Range and replace them with Krafty, Turn my way, and WFTSC and you'd pretty much have the perfect album.
