ITS ABOUT PORT ROYAL TOWN, CAROLINA, US OF A. INNIT?
Dunno, I don't think I've ever researched that before. Mostly just the tone of the two songs seem to go well with each other, back to back. Same sort of desperation in the music, same sort of desperation in the lyrics.
At least that is what I think I hear. :D
It's a classic Barney tune all round. Each line makes sense, but not together, yet the full whole someone conveys buckets of emotion.
All it lacks is one of his 2 line "unified theory of the universe" lyrics.
But rapping??? Can you imagine how long it was before Hooky could even pick his bass up or Steve could drum after he said "I think I'll do some rap on this one "....3 hours later.."stop fookin laughin Hooky...Steve you too" (Gillian, being a lady, would of course not be so rude and loutish)

I'm figuring that Barney had to down a few bottles of wine to get that special sort of seriousness going for the song. I bet if you clear up the recording a bit, there's a laugh track underneath it all by Morris/Hook, and Barney liberally calling them cunts. ![]()
Nah, there was a producer on there, he would UNDOUBTEDLY have kicked the rest of them RIGHT out for that take...it'd be mayhem otherwise. (in other words, preciecely what you described :) )

Are you saying the phenomena that is Vanilla Ice can't rap? What about Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch? ![]()

yep and you can add eminem and fred "tattoed freak bwoy" durst to the list aswell :)
Where's "none"? they are all terrible... i cringe everytime. i hit the skip forward button EVERYTIME.
And yes, Eminem is awesome, though the latest iPod commercial is getting on my nerves.
Sorry to say this, but come to think of it, I have never enjoyed any rhymes from the UK. Please stop.

oh - waitaminute... i take it back... UK does have some pretty great rappers. Roots Manuva for one. "Witness" is a great track and I love spinning that one. Tricky is alright, but sometimes.
But New Order - geez, I hope never again.
