Okay, what I want to know is, the part of any track (NO related or not) that 'gets you' every time you hear it? I'm talking goosebumps, hairs standing on the back of your neck, tears, etc.

For me, the guitar part that comes in on the 'Touching from a distance, further all the time' line on 'Transmission' is one of the most perfect things I've ever heard.

I also had a 'funny moment' listening to 'Temptation' once...the way Barney delivers the 'People in this world we have no place to go' bit struck me as being really sad, and yes, I got a bit teary eyed....not good when you're on the bus to work :o

Opening bars of Ceremony - they send a shiver up me spine every time.

No other song comes close!!

the way the line "look at me... i'm not you" from Regret is delivered always makes me catch my breath.

And the opening guitar riff just gives me goosebumps as well!!

the little keyboardy bit half way through 'Crystal'.

Allen, getting a bit tight at the top of the third innit?

There's many moments off course, but the one that comes to mind is the last bit of Sub-culture (the album version) when the loud synthsizer nearly drowns out Barney's voice...one of these days you go back to your home... Takes my breath away every time.

Oi! I was going to say that!

The second verse of Temptation, really does it for me, as well as the "green eyes, blue eyes, gray eyes" part

Also, the opening bits of SLC and Atmos have been known to get my hair standing on end.

The second repetition of green eyes, blue eyes, grey eyes on Substance Temptation.

New Order makes music????

Well...hmmm...I hate to admit it...since so many out there hate this song...but there is a point in Run Wild...that makes me think of a long lost love...and every time I hear True Faith's drum intro on the radio (which isn't all that often)...it makes me jump just a little bit!!!!

And another vote for Ceremony.......

The drums at the start of Decades at Festival Hall in 84 - history was unfolding in front of us. Seemed better to me than LWTUA at Brum the year before, as that was a bit of a mess !

Yes, the opening bars to Ceremony always gets me. Others are the opening keyboard bits to Thieves, Sunrise and Sooner.

Well... In the K-Klass remix of Ruined In A Day, at the end where it seems like someone's talking but you can't make it out.. by the way, anyone know what's being said here? Also, the last two minutes of The Perfect Kiss. And the Crystal piano. The Sunrise intro. This Time Of Night chorus. All of Doubts Even Here and Special (especially the ending choruses). The little twinkly things in Bizarre Love Tiangle. The cover of Temptation by Transmutator. In All The Way, the trumpet/clarinet type thing that follows the bassline, and the cool thing that plays in the background at the same time. The Stadium Mix of Spooky. The True Faith opening drums. And the part in the middle where the song sort of slows down before picking up again. The organ in World (The Price Of Love). The last minute in Dream Attack. The synth (all of it) in Subculture. Vicious Streak intro. In 1963, the "I will always be free" bit. In Regret, "Look at me, I love you.." part. All of Avalanche. The intro of Let's Go (Nothing For Me) from (the best of) NewOrder. The In A Lonely Place drums. The thing from Times Change that the trumpet thing goes over. Paradise, "I want you I want you, I need you I nee-eed you" (Shalalalala). The intro to Mr. Disco live from the Deacadence bootleg. Synth from Your Silent Face. The song Sputnik. Most of The Him. Dreams Never End guitar... Fuck, there is too much. And, as stated before by another member, Love Will Tear Us Apart. I'll shut up now.

The opening of "Atmosphere". Great production by Martin Hannett, indeed.

The bridge (or whatever it is) at the end of "Special"

"Patiently you wait for me. . . "

Kicks my ass

But I never did get if that was a love song or a hate song.

Barney's guitar part at the start of Temptation - number 1 New Order moment for me! plenty of others - I agree with the start of AOC, Guitar parts at the start of Sunrise, Keyboards on Crystal, Ceremony (Original) , Keyboards on Vanishing Point................

1966 US launches massive offensive in Vietnam, Dylan & Baez become huge cult figures playin to the masses, Aberfan disaster in Welsh Mining village kills 147, Soviet spacecraft orbits the Moon, Moors Murderers jailed for life, Unmanned US spacecraft lands on The Moon, Race riots in Chicago, New York & Cleveland, President Johnson visits troops in Vietnam, Floods in Florence ruin many art treasures, Ronald Reagan elected Governer of California.

Yep - the searing guitar throughout on "Ceremony" (first version) - especially the end bit! The weird sequencer noise right at the end of "Chosen Time" The icy echoey melodica refrain on "Truth" - chilly as fuck!

fuck - I'd better get back and listen to some NO oldies again before I chip in with a few more.....

:cool2:

Tend to get a bit wound up with the "I've lost you..." bit in AOC, also the "Just wait 'til tomorrow..." coda in Regret - close to the meaning of lfe, IMHO. No point in picking a bit from Temptation, as it is all perfect, ditto Ceremony. CTD

Two songs ... FIrstly, the tune to Confusion ... Especially the keyboards ... It seems like alot of people don't like this song, but it does something for me ...

Also the line in Perfect Kiss,'I know you know we believe in a land of love'
