Things that make you go "OOF"!

1. Crystal - When the bass comes (especially live)

2. Vanishing Point - The introduction with the reverbed bass drum and sequencer in the background

3. Age of Consent - the intro with the bass and drums - what energy!

4. 60mph - Barney's guitar solo

Vanishing Point at the 'My life ain't no holiday'part. Love it and I can play the keyboard line during the chorus on my piano.

Dream attack: the keyboards and bass line coming in after the guitar intro make me feel all warm and fuzzy. As does that keyboard line after the first verse and the entire ending.

Ceremony intro, and the lyrics. It's funny because I actually didn't like it at first, and now I listen to it everyday on the way to work.

Lonesome Tonight: Everything. The opening line of "I walk along the street..."

Vicious Streak: The build up and then "I keep hanging on..." I remember the day I bought Get Ready on my lunch hour, couldn't listen to it until I got home, and when I heard that line, it was just amazing. I had to open the doors and turn it up, as if to say "Hey all you MTV/Limp Bizkit/Britney Aguilara/ idiots: here's a real band. This is what real music sounds like."

Another one would have to be 'Leave Me Alone' I think. It just has this enegmaticness all of its own, especially the ending, its strangely comforting in a way.

Vanishing Point, that moment, with the wind effect, yes that is a great moment, perfect.

Also the guitar based tracks on Brotherhood are great, the end of Weirdo, the pure emotion gets me in every time.

And to all people who call them 2 note wonders or whatever, who cares how many chords you use as long as the song works. Its music from the heart, not from some turgid 70s prog-rock outfit, using complex chord changes simply because they can.

As for Get Ready, the songs which hit me the most on an emotional level are Vicious Streak and Primitive Notion.

I can't remember if I mentioned In A Lonely Place. So there. But seriously, what is that guy saying at the end of the K-Klass remix of Ruined In A Day? OH!! And the little "Oo-ooh!"s in World (The Price Of Love)... Don't those just build the song up? And the little twinkling thing from the Perfecto Mix of World... Umm, shit, how'm I gonna explain... Ok, likr right in at the beginning of the Sexy Disco Dub. Which probably not many of you have, and if you do would you care enough to go check? Doubtful. Damnit. Or in World (The Price Of Dub), the loop added just after the bassline... THAT twinkly thing. And, here I go again. That's an even RARER track. Fuckit, if you wanna look, go for it its pretty as Hell. *sigh*

I really love the star/twinkling synth in Atmosphere, after the guitar build up, you all know what i am talking about!!!

I have to admit that I could listen to the "twinkling" bit all day! Got lost in concert though. Also the cow bell in Perfect Kiss and the beginning of The Eternal.
I'm enjoying the intro to Marine by Monaco right now - could go down as a fave in years to come.

Oh, and the bit in Murder taken from Caligula - I had listened to Murder many many times before I saw the movie. When Caligula yells it out it all made sense - life, the universe and other things. My mind is going....

Yeah, the bit in the end "My mind is going" is HAL in 2001 getting unplugged - the beginning "I hate you!" is from Caligula.

(new dawn fades) "i'm not afraid anymore i'm not afraid anymore i'm not afraid anymore i'm not afraid anymore..." (insight) "i put my trust in you...i put my trust in you...(screaming) I PUT MY TRUST IN YOU..." (version of means to an end on the still album) the feedback near the end of truth... "the hangman looks round as he waits..." (in a lonely place) when ian's voice enters on the jd box set version of lonely place, fucking shit... barney's voice enters in chosen time.. when the bass and low droning keyboards kick in in the beginning of denial... the ending of 1963 when bernard says (i think)"i will always feel for you," combined with the bass melody, makes me choke up, which is very rare... ian curtis' rare guitar playing in general... when ian's voice enters in dead souls, i can feel him fucking spitting in my face as he yells "someone take these dreams away..." this made me like joy division. when ian's voice comes in on the still version of ceremony... doubts even here, the entire song... the whooping in everything's gone green... "small boy kneels humble in a great hall..." (the him) true faith, the entire song... the drum intro to shes lost control, the entire song after that, and the way that ian dances... "violent, more violent, his hand cracks the chair..." (i remember nothing) "why don't you piss off?" (your silent face)
