BLT on STarbucks Compilation

Of modern rock love songs. Saw it in the store this evening.

Probably already been posted about but I don't recall seeing it so I figured I'd mention it.

More $$ in the pockets of Warners and hopefully NO as well...these compilations usually sell pretty well. Might be the first time many people say "oh yeah I know that song...I never new it was called Bizarre Love Triangle"

Starbucks......NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Moral Dilemma. Do I buy it for New Order or do I leave well alone because its Starbucks.

Tell me again how great major labels are? New Order....reduced not only to selling coffee, but doing so for the company that believes IT'S coffee will reign over all others for 1000 years.

also, those compilations tend to be for the soccer mom set so maybe it will lead to more left leaning want to be trendy 40 somethings buying new order and a tour of more than just 3 or 4 cities in the US next time :P

That's nice to hear...but I bet tons of teenagers and preteens at Starbucks had never even heard of New Order.....

Leave well enough alone for the uninitiated to discover New Order off a mega-coffee shop comp. LP. (unless said release is a rare mix or something)

I say opt for buying the original New Order albums or even their own compilations (ie; best of) instead if you don't already have them. I think (without any facts to back up), that the artists make more money off their own albums vs. royalties off of one track on a various artists comp. LP.

Hasn't Bob Dylan already gone down this road?

Seem to recall that he made it worse by offering something EXCLUSIVE for sale in Starbucks.

EDIT: I was right - Dylan released a live gig from 1962 exclusively through Starbucks. Wonder if NO will start doig that?

Failing that, we could start selling coffee on the w***ing forum?

Alanis Morisette released "Jagged Little Pills Acoustic" through Starbucks...

I think there is only 1 starbucks in Montreal and it's at the airport!! and I'm serious...

We have plenty of "Second Cup", "Al Van Houtte", "Café Dépôt" and "Presse Café" though...

But you go to Vancouver and they're on every corner arent they? Even some intersections with two right opposite each other. Down here they still have the name Seattle Coffee Company and there's three in Joburg, three in Cape Town and one in Pretoria I think and thats it! Everything else is shite burnt "Italian Roast" or Mugg and Bean - yecchhh! And as for tea...you guys dont know how good you've got it!

Never been to Vancouver, so I can't say... "Seattle Coffee Company" is Starbucks? They had that on the cruise ship I went on last October!

Seattle were a small independent, in the UK as well I think (?), and then got bought out by Starbucks and had their stores renamed except for in SA for some reason - no Starbucks here yet.
