if like me, you have all of your NO collection on a PC and/or portable MP3 player, try guessing how long it takes to guess a NO track when played in random order.
i am shocked that it takes me on average 10-20 seconds for me to guess it correctly. And i thought i knew NO.
it depends on the album, really. PC&L, low-life, technique, get ready and WFTSC: probably 0-5. republic: 5-10. movement: 10-15.
Friends of mine were testing my all knowing music recognition knowledge one night by playing me random songs over the phone. Got most of it right. Remixes not so much quick on the uptake, but regular releases I'm rather good at it. 5-10 secs.
I'll give it a go, make my vote in an hor or so, damn good excuse to listen to some NO, not that I need oe of course.
First time I heard Krafty (no intro) driving in my car, I knew by the count of 3 it was a NO tune.
Having spent quite some time testing myself, I average about 2-3 seconds, sometimes on the first beat in the case of stuff like love vigilantes and Mr Disco, but some of the tracks from movement and republic (both of which i din't listen to much) had me a bit stumped.
Good fun though, great idea, give yourself a pat on the back from me.
Definitely pretty quickly, certainly for everything up to and including Republic - maybe one or two tracks from GR or WFTSC might take a bit longer...

Normally pretty good on these. Was caught out yesterday when 'Chemical' came on. Thought it was a 'Raise The Pressure' track at first. Made me realise how similar parts of those 2 albums are.
Cracking track though.
Pretty good, usually 0-5 seconds, bit longer on a couple of songs. Like Laterdate, i can always tell it's NO on the radio without intro's.
