Madonna at the Hacienda

Wilson speaks from bitter experience. 'I eventually plucked up the courage to look across the table to Madonna and ask, 'Are you aware that the first place you appeared outside of New York was our club in Manchester?' 'She gave me an ice-cold stare and said, 'My memory seems to have wiped that.'
Bloody hell, what a sanctimonious bitch eh?
Good on Tony though for putting her in her place regarding the Hacienda appearance. Madonna probably lives in a world where her opinions and recollections are not challenged in any way by her hired minions. Much like Michael Jackson.
Besides, she's a very tired record these days. She's done a handful decent dance tunes but it's obvious she's a careerist first and a musician second or probably even third. It must be very boring to have your career planned out from day one. All she seems to do is latch onto whichever trendy producer is hip at the time and ride the wave of popularity. There's about four tracks off her latest record I like and even then I'll definitely have trouble remembering them a year from now ![]()
More info at the superb Cerysmatic Factory website, including a link to a Guardian article on that infamous night here
:)
I remember watching it at the time.Doesn't surprise me that she seems to want to deny she ever did it.
The Factory all stars did LWTUA at the end of the show, if i remember right?
