Brilliant!! Any news about the other songs?

all i heard from liam is that the sound was VERY poor during twenty four hours. he sent me the set list via text message, but i deleted it! i know shadowplay was on there, and LWTUA. perhaps those present can fill in the rest.

...so another all JD set then, eh?

So... who taped this one?

Part of me is excited because they've played a song they haven't done for a really long time, so its great whatever in a nostalgic sort of way - like Warsaw and Shadowplay, its good to see they havent forgotten these songs.

But then 24 Hours is one of my absolute favourites and I hope to God they did it justice. Hopefully they rehearsed - if Steve has turned his brilliant drumming from JD into Shadowplay-style plod-a-long I'll be disappointed.

Hope everyone had (or is having) a great time.

To Diggy Mike, Hibster, Uncle Liam and all the other Vikings that made it oop to Mancland hope ya all had a great fooking time before, during and post-gig(no doubt having fab hangovers on behalf of the rest of us:evil4:  ). Update us on the full setlist soon as ya can lads.

not the half of it

A night that kept bordering on the cheese threw up some stormers.

How Soon is Now..played live with J Marr doin vocals. Fuckin amazin.

Just when I got pissed off with New Order doing the boring JD set they pull out 24 Hours. Fuckin brilliant. Then gave us Ceremony. ahhh.

Then the all star line up at the end that threatened to be an embarrassment turned into a massive rendition of Wrote For Luck. Hooky, Barney, Bez, Ryder, Marr all givin it Happys. Brought back so many memories. Ryder may be a fuckwit but he's still got it.

I went not expecting much. And came away with treasured memories.

And a head full of Class A's and a top woman

Altogther a good un.

oh, and forgot to mention. Fuckin excellent Viking pins, best yet?

Ma heid's fuckin bangin!

A long day yesterday, left Corby at 7 in the morning for the Celtic game, disappointing result as we were robbed of a blatant penalty when we were cruising at 3-1 :nonono:

Ach well, the gig more than made up for it and we managed to bump into just about everyone from here, I also met a few new faces, big up to Steven (Out Of Order) for coming to meet us before the Celtic game....a Rangers fan coming to a Tim pub and he was a top lad, we also met up with him at the gig. I also remember meeting Royser and Missy Jem down at the front of the gig.

Ness was sporting TARTAN Viking headgear, supplied by Biginoil  Also got to have a great craic with DoN, Rocket, JT( who had done an Alan Bradley with a tram) Lucy (who swears she never pushed JT), Jarvo (The VIKING badge God), Johnny Giles, Mandy (but Hibster wasnae with us - he was whoring it up with his press pass pals :D ) Vinnie, Greg, Ally, Biginoil, Baldrick, John & Lorraine (Mr & Mrs Schumaker) Danny German Order, Darren Welsh Order, Gary, Gordy, Alex and John, Uncle Liam, Mike Garrity and Frads (a pair of tubes in Hawaiin T's and Shorts AND the Stoke flag) and there were probably loads more, but I was very drunk :D

We did the usual and stayed at the bar till neworder came on, (except for when we heard Barney singing HIT THE NORTH - we dived in to see that) then made a mad dash to get down the front just in time. All the talk of a Joy Division only set hadnae put anyone off - cos there was a BIG rumour doing the rounds we were gonna get a song from Still which hadnae been played since 1980. Jarvo and JG said it was from the Birmingham concert so we thought we were gonna get Disorder.

I can't remember what order the set was played cos I was too busy diving around and singing along like a mad eedjit. I have to say the crowd was fucking brilliant, ten times better than the Apollo gig a month or two back  The place was also packed to the rafters which quelled our fears of not many people being there!!! The "mosh pit" was crazy and we had to hang on for dear life at times and I remember falling over some guy on the floor. Brilliant. Thanks to John and Steven and a couple of others for getting us to our feet again.

24 Hours was fucking outstanding, Uncly John had tears in his eyes! Everyone was going mental. To top things off we also got a neworder track thrown in :thumb:

The band are / were fucking great and it more than made up for the disappointment of being robbed by Dundee Utd at Paradise.

new ordah!!!!

Nearly forgot..... Wrote For Luck. Great ending.

Another all JD set... I thought that might have been a one off for Peel day... wonder if they're gonna make a habit of this now... it's cool either way...

great night except for 808 State who were seriously embarrasing IMO although v funny to watch.

the down side was i spent way too much time at the bar arguing with fuckin idiots pushin in.

what were the tracks Barney joined Doves for, i didnt recognise them?

Elbow, BDB were great too although the sound is never too good in the arena. definitely worth the money and all for a great cause, bring on the DVD!!

One of them was VICIOUS off Lou Reed's Transformer album! And the other was R Dean Taylor's/The Fall's "Ghost In My House".

Brilliant... If they can pull something like this out of the bag, then there's hope yet that something like Hurt might just possibly see the light of day once more... Anyone who was there, how did Barney sound on 24H?

bernard sounded terrible. I was listening to closer on saturday morning, wasnt that pissed, and couldnt make out the song, even when he started singing.
