twenty four hours played tonight!

The worst sound of all the night was on Atmosphere. Otherwise a great set and really enjoyed all the collaborations. Johnny Marr with Andy Rourke doin How soon is now, was the highlight.

Must check out Nine Black Alps.

Elbow, BDB were great too although the sound is never too good in the arena. definitely worth the money and all for a great cause, bring on the DVD!!

Am not sure why you found them seriously embarassing. Yeah they're looking older, but so does Barney and Graham Massey's jacket was a bit well uncool. Thought they're set was really good though!

I thought 24 hours was great, made the night for me. One of my favourite JD songs. Totally unexpected as we thought we were getting a song from Still.

Yeah it was all taped and they are hinting at DVD release on the M vs C site. Maybe we should email them.

Was also nice to see John Cooper Clarke and Frank Sidebottom.

But yeah 24 Hours had my spine tingling.

It sounds fantastic! So, did anyone tape it (audio- I don’t have the patience to wait for the DVD) or were you all too busy living in the moment to think of us poor fool who couldn’t be there?

Missed 808 state and Bez's band cos we got there at 7.30.

Having seen enough NO performances over the last few years I was well pleased they played a JD set, at least it spared me that atrocious version of True Faith they normally play.

Anyway a fantastic night, I think my highlights were There is a light... How Soon is Now, Ceremony and the 'Superstar' line up of WFL even though it was a bit shambolic.

All rounded off by an impromptu visit to Sankeys where I had triple vision.

if it was taped and or filmed as suggested by tallguyuk for possible dvd release, it would perhaps make a nice accompaniment to that Joy Division dvd we have been waiting for for so long. perhaps a two disc set ala collection. that would be nice. JD old & new.

they wont do that as a JD dvd would be released solely for making the band money, whereas last night was for charity.

it has happened before. remember the Academy vid. well all i'm saying is that would be nice if it happened. who knows what the commercial arangements are. let's just wait and see.

I was 3 rows back but i can't remember how it sounded.or indeed how the whole set sounded.Maybe gonna have to knock this moshpit madness into touch and stand further back in future.....

But i remember how the WFL jam sounded.A wall of guitars.With Bez right back on form with the freaky dancin' !!! Superb

mc tunes kept standing behind andy rourke on the last song threatening to pull his trousers down.

marr stopped playing guitar on it early doors & was just standing there at the back.

mani was loitering not doing anything which prevented us from seeing freebas together in the supergroup line up - have pics of hooky & rourke together...

noticed that the autocue had the lyrics to vicous on it before doves' set, they bought BDB on first, then he left & marr & Barney came on - Brney introduced the song as "viscous", introduced r dean taylor's as a song by some bloke from wolverhampton (i was expecting a slade cover at that point!) after barney & marr, doves had guy garvey from elbow on. "this is turning into a right back slapping fest"

new order almost forgot to play ceremony, they did 7 songs & were about to walk off when someone reminded barney they were due to do ceremony.

wilson introduced them & they all greeted him fondly as they walked on stage (sections of the crowd had booed him)
