i should add you are all invited to stay, even those with whom i may have had the odd stouch. after all it is the Order that counts here. BTW you'll have to pay your own airfares.

I'll gladly trade my moonwalking skills to Liam for a few dates down here this year.

Perhaps they could coincide with the Ashes Tour so we could fill more venues, lure Giles down here, give the Barmy Army something to get excited about, etc.

There is nothing official yet, just rumours... so don't hold your breath.

There is one thing with New Order, if you don't have tickets in your hands, never believe what you hear.. otherwise I would have been in England last April to see them at the Brixton Academy... something they finall did, but 6 months later.

If you're anywhere in North America, you probably should've taken the opportunity to see them last tour. Make hay while that morning sun shines.

It amazes me that so many don't go see them because they don't play in their specific city. If you like NO enough to spend time on these boards, surely you can put together enough notes for an internal flight (or Can-US) to attend a gig. Your time is running out. Who knows how many more tours they have in them?

Down here, most of us would kill to have them play within 5,000kms.

Of course New order in Canada would be an anamoly. The last time they played anywhere north of the border would have been when I saw them at Area One with Moby in Vancouver.

Spotnik - wouldnt it be great to see and hear New order at a venue like Metropolis. Hell, the Arcade Fire would jump at the thought of opening for them. Montreal just seems like a perfect spot to kick off a proper NA tour and I know for a fact that with all that is old being new again, even a 'retro' tour like what DM did years ago for their Singles tour would be perfect for those just discovering Joy Division/New order in North America now.

Coincidentally, I wonder when the winner of the dance category for the Grammies will be announced. I know that the categories like best Polka album and such get a mere nod at the bottom of the screen, but will the winners of those lower profile categories be posted on the website as soon as the show starts?

the rose bowl is roughly the size of bono's ego, give or take a few square feet, so yes.

I'm not sure I would have made the trip (cost me 500$ in plane tickets!) if it would have been ONLY for the gigs.

Sure I don't have Al & Mark's budget, but that still is a LOT of money for some gigs... but I had to do it, and I'd dot it again!

that's the spirit. when they are anywhere you can get to them in a reasonable time you have no excuse.

in 2002 i drove to sydney and back twice. staying over once. a600 km return trip each time. must have cost me close to $600 gigs, motel room, food, grog, and petrol.
