New Order Morse Code

Now here's an oddity. I've heard from somewhere that there is supposed to be an audible morse code message running through part of an early (ie pre-Brotherhood) New Order song...only thing is, it wasn't revealed which specific song. I'm damned if I can recall any song where this happens, perhaps some of you more seasoned and keen-eared NO spotters can enlighten us further on what must surely be a very intriguing puzzle. If there IS a morse code message on the track, I wonder what it spells out?

Anybody with any answers?

Oh yeah - drum patterns.... .... but I think the source was suggesting the kind of bleeping noise we usually associate with morse code. That's what I meant......any other offers?

Shit! I'm going to have to start systemmatically listening to every fooking New Order song again with my ears pressed against each speaker! :(

Shit! You may be onto something there Jase - Temptation DOES have that sequencer thingy doesn't it? Plus there was all that bumf about snowballs being thrown about the studio whilst it was being recorded. Maybe the noise is buried in there somewhere - I'll have to give it a good listen to see if it is....

Just a little note...

In the Oasis song "D'you know what i mean", the morse code after the line "Don't look back cos you know what you might see" spells "bugger all"

God really Major?!! I didn't realise Noel Gallagher even knew what Morse Code was - let alone use it on one of his songs!!!

BTW, back to the subject in hand, do YOU know which New Order song has this weird MorseCode bit in it? Cos I can't seem to find it!! :)

Only secret thing i know of is the message in don't do it....

Yeah? what is that? and where is it?? Is it satanic??

If you play Don't Do It backwards, it is alledged that you can hear the line "your Mother sucks cocks in hell", which isn't terribly polite if you ask me.

Why anyone would want to play Dont Do It backwards is a topic for another discussion, but there you go.

You record it as a WAV and then reverse it using your PC... i did it after barney said they had put a backwards message on one of their tracks but no-one had found it, i instantly thought of that wierd noise at the end, at that was it.

I actually listened to it in the normal direction rather than play it backwards and it seems clear that the voice at the end says something like: "This could be the best days of my life". Maybe the "sucks cocks" bit is just a coincidence or myth. But playing it forwards this is what it sounds like that's being said.

I take it no-one has even bothered to investigate the morse-code bit yet then? :)
