How old when you first saw the Order?

To my shame I never got to see them till Reading '98 that means I was 29! :o

eighteen, and it was the first ever concert by New Order in Berlin, Germany. Quite a psychedelic experience, lights very low (guess they didn't change the Ian Curtis epilepsy precaution) and nobody knew any songs. My only New Order to date. (NO didn`t like to play Berlin)

11 days shy of my 21st birthday

nec 89 - same as shug's first gig. 2nd row behind the barriers of the seated bit looking on in envy of the people standing at the front.

I was 17 when I first saw them. 6th June 1987,Finsbury Park,London. A truly unforgettable experience.

I was 27 when I saw them at Finsbury Park last year.Missed their tour when they came to Brazil in 1988,I was only 13 those days and my father didn´t allow me to go.

17 and at the afformentioned Brixton Ace.

"LET'S GO DISCO BARNEY!"

What a great venue but obviously the owner came to a financial crossroads and needed the cash.

I also saw Urban Shakedown, Youth's band Brilliant and the original line up of the Sisters of Mercy there too.

There used to be loads of small venues like that all over the capital and probably more imporantly bands actually played them rather than simply coining it in at the larger places.

NO 1984 at Heaven was one of the best. And guess what, I may have even sold you a poster.

Brixton Ace, X-mas 83' went with a few older fans and my mate.I think it was the start of my love/hate affair with booze....and arguing with my mate over who done 'love-reaction' I consider myself quite lucky as i always seemed to see the 'right' bands at the right times. I loved the 80's. P.S. I was 14 years old at the time... a very pissed 14.

Preston was my first gig at the tender age of 18 and mighty fine it was to. My first was meant to be Blackburn earlier in the year but had to give my ticket away to best mate who didn't even like NO 'cos my mum and dad offered me the chance to go on a skiing holiday instead. Thinking back, i should have gone to the gig instead.

21, when they come to Toronto (or NYC) in 2004 and play the best concert I've ever gone to in my life.

15 years old at the Logan Campbell Centre, Auckland, NZ in 1985 (Love Juice gig). One and a half weeks after surgery to remove rotten tonsils and having my nose drilled out. Fortunately mine does not now look like Michael Jacksons.

Biggest up - hearing NO were to tour NZ in 1985. Biggest down - finding out I was having surgery in the same month. Determination: kill if necessary to get to the gig.

Was this the gig where Barney says "you are a miserable bunch of fucking bastards...we are never coming back to Germany again" or something along those lines? I have it on tape somewhere.

What did you do to piss him off and were you personally responsible?

They played the Ace in March and the ACADEMY in December.

That was the 84 gig where he said that - they'd played there in 1981 as well (not to mention a JD gig)

Logan Concrete Centre - what a fucking hole with crap sound. I was there too. And also at the much better 1981 or 82 show at Mainstreet as a 20-something (showing my age here). There was also the 87-ish gig at that place at the top of Symonds Street, whatever it was called - the Galaxy? Something like that, can't remember exactly (showing my age again).

3 days before my 18th birthday at Royal Festival Hall in 1984.

I was at the Brighton Centre show in 86 if that's the one Al referred to. There was a bin near the exit with all the tickets in them - I grabbed a handful and got number 3 (I think) - yep, sad isn't it?

By the way, I didn't mean I hired out the Festival Hall for my birthday - honestly, grammar standards is sloppy isn't they?!!!

I was 16, it was there first visit to the convict colony.
