What happened to the backing singer in Germany?

I don't know why everyone hates backing singers so much. I don't have a problem with them myself; at least they add something a bit different to NO's songs.

Astrid Williamson has a lovely, airy, ethereal backing vocal that shows up in only a few key places, stays in the background...and is in fact a good example of the human voice integrating itself into a musical tapestry.in other words, it *fits*. and well. which such things SHOULD do, if one is going to do them.

I do agree so much!!! I did not think about it but you are right. It's a really good song too.

I'm beginning to think no one really knows what happened to the Dawn Zee on the France/Germany/Sweden November 2001 tour dates!

Yes I can read, thank you for asking. Of the 30 replies to this thread, nobody has expostulated on the whereabouts of Dawn Zee, instead they have concentrated on either lambasting or extolling the virtues of backing singers within the works of New Order. It is, therefore, a perfectly reasonable conclusion from the overwhelming anti-backing singer attitude expressed within this thread, that those who have posted on this thread indeed do not care what happened to Dawn Zee en route from A to B.

I'm sorry that nobody appears to know the answer to your very valid question.

Mark, This board has an inherant history of veering subjects wildly "off topic" Thank yourself lucky that Hunstman(rip) didnt post on this thread or we'd probably be talking about the crunchyness of ice cream cones or summin by now ;)

If you that keen for your question to be answered a gentle nudge back "on topic" is often required by the topic poster as you seem to have found out!!!

But the diversity and amount of information that can emerge from topics wandering off in unchartered directions can often be as interesting and insightful as the answer to the original question was anyway!! and if nothing else it raises a chuckle

Relax, I believed you the first time. It must have been an apparition I saw at Brixton and on Jools Holland.
