That's a guitar tab, Ron - the request was for how to play the synth bits. I've never done keyboard tabs myself, but you can get pretty close by messing around with Dm and C, they're the same shape and you don't have to mess around with those pesky black keys.

Back on the topic of guitar tabs, there's certainly some interesting interpretations in this thread.... CTB

It's easier to play than explain (particularly if like me you have no training on a keyboard) but it's something like this...

The left hand plays the bass notes that are D and C

While the left hand plays D, the right hand plays a chord of D and F (D minor is that?) and on the last time before the right hand changes to a C you play D, F and G (haven't got a clue what you'd call that).

Similarly when the left hand plays C, the right hand plays C and E (is that a C major?) and the last time before the left hand changes back to D you play C, E and F. The second verse is subtly different in that you play C, E and A the last time.

If you listen to the Still version you can get the left hand/right hand rhythms much easier than the Closer version. Play it with a strings sound and whack up the chorus level and you can even get an authentic Still type wobbly synth sound!

That's really badly explained I know and it probably only makes sense to me!

im getting my guitar teacher to tab out the whole of blue monday every single little bit, every single little noise and i might aswel get 5-8-6 while im at it

Hey, a little while ago I figured out a bit of Sunrise. Some guitar and some bass for you. Also, Disclaimer, I know its not perfect, but it's the best I have at the moment. I'll tune it up after I figured out some more of the fine details. I just started working on figuring out Low-Life, well what hasn't already been done. Enjoy!

You're playing it an octave down - it's played solely on the d and g strings. Other than that it's good, although if you listen carefully to the Low-Life recording, Hooky tags from G5 to G7 each time at the beginning and (although this bit is overdubbed) ends with an open D. You've also missed out this bit that comes right after what you tabbed (on the right octave).

G--10....-9.....-10-9 D---------------------10---8...-5....

The chorus is just open D and G2, which is easy enough to play along too. There's also some high end played after Bernard's little rant at the end, which I might post a little later if anyone's bothered.

Thanks! When I tabbed out the bass I used my guitar so I'm not suprised I have it an octave off. I also couldn't get those other little bass riffs so thanksa bunch. I guess I should go edit it.
