You all forget the infamous Smash Hits episode of the late eighties. They were on tour in the States with the now-defunct pop mag and took a while to surface the morning after a gig. Barney was last to appear and was snapped leaving a lassie's hotel room nearby. He commanded the lensman not to publish the pics but word got out and his then-wife filed for divorce. Apparently they'd all been at it up to their nuts for quite a while, Hooky and Barney vying with each other to see who could poke the most women on tour.
It was very astute, Gillian joining the band as then she could make sure Steve wasn't splicing the mainbrace with any willing sort on the road!

That's the kiddie! Like I said, it was some of the damning proof needed by wifey back home to go down to the solicitor's office. It's as old as the hills and is known as 'tour rules' i.e whatever happens on the road, stays on the road and no-one back home - especially partners - gets to know.
Even the most dedicated family or long-married man would be sorely tempted by the myriad chances of being paid for performing and then the prospect of drunkeness and anonymous sex with willing people. Touring might be boring insomuch as it involves constant travel, horrid hotel rooms, putting up with obsequious gits you don't like etc but it also means getting your genitalia exercised by total strangers who think you're God himself and there's always money to be made by doing something you love too.
I should hasten to add that, even in over twenty years as a muso, I've never been on tour!

Personally I think we should stay away from a load of speculation about their private lives. We don't want the band asking for the site to be closed or threads removed now, do we?
