Part of the problem with the band indulging themselves in the old JD numbers is that there's precious little talk of new material on the horizon. Seemingly bugger all excitement over "we've just written this new tune and can't wait to get it out on the road" but just Atmosphere for the 500th time

Ideally, I'd like to see the number of JD songs on the setlist cut back to two or three at the absolute most (Transmish, LWTUA, Isolation) and the rest of the setlist freed up for numbers from Technique, PC&L and more recent stuff like Primitive Notion. I think the reason Hooky gave in Tim's Greece interview was that new fans won't know the album tracks but let's face it, at NO gigs they're preaching to the converted! Your average audience member will know most of the albums surely??

I sort of got the impression that while Hooky had suggested to the band that they might like to do more NO stuff this time around, and cut some of the JD numbers, they were finding it impossible to leave them out! I suspect that what we may see is fewer JD numbers, and some of them on rotation, rather than being binned altogether. I should have asked a follow-up question about which NO numbers we may see if things go to plan, but of course it's a lot easier in hindsight! There is of course also this huge difference between a festival audience, who are there for the day out, and an NO gig such as those we will be getting in October, where everyone is there for NO. Hopefully the band will recognise this and tailor their offerings accordingly.
