I was always SURE it was 'TAN like this for nothing' too. - EDIT - just listened to the album version & a live version & it still could be TAN . . . . or Time

In 1963, I think the lyric changes: I just want to feel free I will always feel free I will always feel for you. (But in the 95 fersion you only get the 1st two lines)

I think its "I will always feel free" at the end of 1963, cos he's singing the words of a ghost? the ghost of the dead wife of the character "Johnny".

At the end of Procession, "Your heart beats you late at night" is about the heart ruling the head, late at night - I read this somewhere and it seems to make sense of the lines, cant think of any other way it could be read now!

One thing to remember in all this discussion is that there are no definitive answers. All the lyrics published anywhere are just guesses - even the 'official' ones aren't correct. So if you are convinced you hear lyrics in a certain way then you have just as valid a view as anyone else.

It is "...tan for nothing" on Run!? I always thought that it linked with the recording sessions in Ibiza.

And the same for 1963. Surely it is "I will always feel free"?!

Well if the inconsiderate bastards never released official lyrics then surely we can interpret them any way we want.

I used to think it was "thoughts" instead of "bolts" in "Temptation" as well.

JD's "Disorder" sounds an awful lot like "I've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand," though I knew it was "guide."

This is the the one that I've never been sure of either, so is it "love is the air that supports the eagle" or is neither or both? Personally I like the idea that it's both. What about lyrics with unintended meanings, e.g every time I heard Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny) sing "We ran/With our tools in our hands" it used to crack me up!
