I go into states where Im oblivious to anything other than New Order and Joy Division ... But I also listen to all the New Order side projects, Garbage, The Smiths, Icehouse, The Cure, At the Drive In, The Cars, Siouxsie and the Banshees etc ...
I actually only like early Cure stuff ... They just got to darn depressing after the Faith release ...

My other favorite band, besides New Order, is Sonic Youth (which, for reasons still at large, is not listed among my favorite bands in my profile). I'd LOVE to see those two bands tour together.
Other bands I like include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Clash, The Ramones, Depeche Mode, The Police, Talking Heads, Rolling Stones, Fleetwod Mac, Duran Duran, The Who, The Smiths, The Beatles, Public Enemy, Nirvana, The Doors, Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Run-DMC, Crystal Method, Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, you get the idea. It seems 90% of all the bands I like started in the 60's, 70's or 80's.
Most of my favourite bands have already been mentioned (Beautiful list, Zizou !) ![]()

Yeah, that about covers it.
Many of you (in the U.S. at least) might be interested in the March/April issue of Magnet magazine, featuring those shiny lads from Ride on the cover.
"The History of Shoegazing: The taste that slipped away from American audiences 10 years ago—all dreamy pop swirled into massed guitar feedback—gets a memory reheat. Corey duBrowa chronicles the U.K. scene inhabited by Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Curve, Lush, Slowdive, Chapterhouse and the Pale Saints."
Kevin Shields even weighs in on the release date of the new MBV record! ![]()
yes, i've got that issue of Magnet...a fairly decent article. and there's a reason why that one fairly good MBV site involves "expectdelay" in the domain name. ![]()
did you, perchance, notice the Crispy Ambulance reformation mention toward the beginning of that issue? just wondering. :)
And, just to set the record straight ('cause I know it's been keeping all of you up at night)...
I recorded "Valentine Res" in the winter of '91 before I heard Ride's "Leave It All Behind." Honest...they ripped me off! Sigh.
Can't we all get along and stand in front of guitar amps and soak up waves of feeback while staring at our stomp boxes?
Sonic evidence for those of you with a fat pipe at: http://www.mp3.com/the30s

Bit of a deja Vu post you've made, so as promised I'll pull me finger out and reply to a few more than of late. There are quite a few lerkers on here who've actually been inside a nightclub, but I for one wouldn't be so quick as to own up to liking the Pet Shoppies. So I'd echo your list minus them and with the proviso that it was only early Human League. Also not the 'Southern Fried' Primal Scream varient. Plus these: Chemical Brothers One Dove World of Twist Stone Roses Leftfield Underworld 'Boy's Own' Productions in general Way Out West Bedrock Hooj Chicanes' first album(not as embarrasing as PSB's) Disco- Sylvester, Moroder,Chic, Kool and the Gang Nu Yorican Soul Funk Chill Out Soul Motown Hendrix
