October gigs: new material?

As unlikely as it may seem, what would you say are the chances of them playing a couple of new songs at the UK gigs next month? What of the ones that were written about the time of WFTSC and were supposed to be set aside for the forthcoming album? Might they not be given a live airing? As much as I love their recorded output from the past, hearing something totally new would be most jolly.

What say you?

maybe if enough of us clamor here for it, "they" (those whom frequent these boards and have the pull) might be able to persuade NO to play some new tunes in Oct? If so, I'd say chances could be 50/50, after all NO does do whatever they feel like. :)

Wasn't the addition of Perfect Kiss back into their live set recently due to some hint of a public demand? Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

i'd bet good money on older songs being brought back...they've been rehearsing some. doubtful to hear new ones though. Who knows? maybe they'll play something off WFTSC they haven't done yet...like Guilt perhaps.

Hurt or Chosen Time would do me, but alas it is New Order by numbers these days.

How easy is it to program the auto cue ?

Procession (if Bernard remembers having written it!) Sunrise Dreams Never End Age Of Consent Lonesome Tonight Leave Me Alone

all easy to play!

This Time Of Night Vanishing Point Thieves Like Us

all minimal sequencing

Wouldn't take 'em three rehearsals to get this lot together and gig-ready!

I think VP would be a bastard to recreate without the original kit actually, the other couple should be easy enough to re-do tho.

Def' have an interview with N.O.(maybe even a couple) where Steve was credited with writing Procession, think was maybe from an Uncut interview from the 90's(?).Think also same interview had that Hooky wrote the sequenced bassline to TBTHOG.You know what Barney's memory's like these these days!!! (autocue?)  :thumb:

Not really. It's got a lot of layers, but it's certainly doable on today's equipment. If anything the older ones have an analog sweetness that would be harder to recreate live.

Right back from the days of that Mark Johnson book, Steve was given writing credits for Procession (never specified whether they meant lyrics or melody though), and it has always been assumed it was Steve's song until Barney claimed to have never heard it before in his life at the time of Retro. It'd be great if they could re-learn it!

we might get Dead Souls if they're now happy with their performance of it.

Also I would like to hear 'Here To Stay' debuted.

"Dead Souls" would be just sending shivers down my spine ! I could do with "Hurt" though.
